say i think what sunshine is doing is a great idea and im all for it, theres no reason to pitch a bitch really i mean personaly ive been called hippy, tree hugger, long hair, flower child..etc dozens of times and its not something to take as in insult you are what you are and the most important thing of all is giving us the freedom to do what we feel.

No my given name isnt Jesus Karma Quinn, of course not. I just said thats what i go by, like The Artist Formally Known as Prince.

"all the cool kids are doin it" is a rather obvious and sarcastic peer pressure joke.

As to having a real life and a real cause, I do, but this is just an online disscussion. I do lead a real life, and volenteer often. I suport real causes when i can, through work or finance. Ive gone broke before giving to charity, but never buying drugs or other selfish things. i dont mean to sound full of my self, but people were asking.

so, bobbyellis, i dont see my self as "phoney", and im not sure where you got the impression. Im not going to debate you privately, if you dont want to declare hippiedom, then dont. Im not trying to make enimies, you are trying to be rude, and it would be great if you decide to "maybe help". I guess your just a tough sell.

This is a place to declare without shame that you are a hippy and to disscuss the idea. It is also a place to bitch about lables if you hate that sort of thing, although it wasnt intened to be. but i welcome different opinions(if not the numerous personal insults im getting on a free speech site for my opinion). I would encourage someone to make a thread about what a horrible thing it is to say your a hippie so these folks have someplace to go.

Ok, Sunshine,...as was stated before,...WHAT MOVEMENT are you trying to start????? You made a campain speech in your post about people joining you. Joining you for what? and WHY?
Now you talk about volunteer work or time donations that you have made,....ok?,...so what is the point of that?
Of course you won't debate me in private,....you have no legs to stand on! And again,....I don't mean to be rude but,...like I said don't make enemies in a cause, make friends first and the rest will follow with you.

But I have found, like ex-smokers, ex-hippies are the loudest objectors.
All this, individuality is " It ", is a load of old B******S, a load of egotistical, self important hogwash. How important some of us need to feel. The big I AM.

 

in my opinion, hippie is not a stereotype, its a lifestyle-like 'gay' or 'christian' and so on. besides, if some people see it as a lable, at least its a lable to be proud of! its a lable synonomous with love and peace and accepting people for who they are regardless of age, race, color, shape, or whatever. people are going to lable you no matter what, and if they choose to lable me, i hope it says 'hippie' in big bold letters!

You know what?? I'm not afraid to say that I'm a hippie.. Actually, I'm proud.. I saw that someone said that it just was a fashion from the 60's.. well, I think you're wrong! It's not just a fashion, it's a group of people, who decires peace, and freedom, and that's not afraid of beeing themselves, and much more.. So, just to brag, I am a hippie! And I'm proud of it!
