Well, this happened quite a few years ago, in the mid-to-late 90's. I was in the basement of my parent's house. Growing up there, I had always been terrified of that basement. So I screwed up my courage and turned off the lights and waited. Then, I saw a light, which I thought came from the cellar windows in the laundry room, which was seperated by a doorway from me. I felt scared, but I didnt know why (this is giving me the creeps just writing about it). Then the light began to grow bigger and bigger. It wasn't bright, and it was indistinct in shape, my memory is fuzzy as to what it looked like. Then I started to realize that it was getting closer, which made my brain begin to totally panic. I quickly went to turn on the light near me, and even in those few seconds, I felt like my end was near. When I turned on the light, I saw the door to the laundry room was closed, so there was no way the light came from the window on the other side. I can remember just before the light went on, it had taken kind of a shape like the inside of a hood.

To this day, I cant remember that and not help but think that thing would have killed me with fear if I had waited to turn on the light. Ive always wondered what the heck it was. Does anyone have any ideas?

if it were violent, you would have known.. not by your brain panicing.. we all freaked the first time cause it was something seemingly inhuman... most of our fears are just thoughts and worries of the unknown.. in all actuality, you probably couldve learned something much greater about yoiurself, had you stuck around that day..

I know your're trying to be helpful, but it was very clear the feeling the thing gave me. Looking back on it a little more, I think it was a warning or something. I know I sort of put a few things in my life in a more orderly fashion after this happened.

After I turned on the light, my heart was racing very fast, and it had been accelerating all the time that the thing was getting closer. I can't begin to describe how the fear in my brain was intensifiying exponentially. I started out with an open mind about it. I wanted to see why I was so afraid of that basement as a kid, and that is what happened.

I don't know if the place was haunted (I had seen other things as a kid when trying to sleep, or waking up from sleeping in the middle of the night) or if it was something else that has followed me around all my life. I tend to get the same feelings whenever Im alone in a dark interior, a feeling that intensifies if I concentrate on it, like thinking about it draws the spirit closer.

Neither, its hard to remember what it felt like clearly, but I know it wasnt focused in a hemisphere.
