hi yeah they will but there not really supposed to drink milk, cats (and probably the other animals ) are lactose intolerant and are only supposed to drink water. i mean why would we drink milk by nature it doesn't make sense, im not vegan yet but i really don't like the idea of drinking milk anymore. peace and love issy
the idea of drinking milk just always creeped me out. i tend to think of thing from the point of view of what if cows or other animals took and lock up women who had just given birth and took their kids away and kept milking them and drinking it. its just gross to be drinking milk past nusing stage and ecspecially another animals.
You know, I just got used to it - now whole milk tastes too thick, yucky even. And I agree.....cheesecake.....
I don't mind eating milk in yummy foods because you can't taste it. Whenever I try to drink milk I always think about where it comes from, if we didn't have milk in the first place I bet a shit load of foods wouldn't have been invented... like brownies!
my dog once started to lactate for my kitten and it drank her milk so im sure if its there other animals will share their juices
The discussion is about milk...and last time I checked, milk helped with thirst, not hunger...unless you leave it in the fridge too long and it gets all chunky, then I guess you could eat it...wouldn't reccomend it though.
The Masai people in Africa base their traditional diet largely on cow's blood and milk. Middle Eastern and Indian people have also based a good part of their diet on dairy products from cows, goats, and sheep- yogurt, cheese, butter, etc. So, it's not strictly a European thing! And, yes, I had a full-grown cat that enjoyed nursing from my lactating dog's teat! So, we are definitely not the only species that enjoys the milk from other animals. I buy organic raw milk, and make about a gallon of yogurt a week. It is yummy stuff. If milk grosses you out, or if you think it's unethical to take products of another species for our food, then you're a good candidate for veganism! I like Ben and Jerry's too much to be a vegan...
No, that's not true at all! Yeck!! The only way there would be pus and blood in milk would be if the animal (or human) secreting the milk had a very bad infection. Pus consists mostly of dead white blood cells and bacteria from an infection. Milk from a healthy animal is going to be germ-free, which is why raw milk from a healthy animal is perfectly fine. Pasteurization only helps extend the shelf life of the product. Milk is a mammal's original food, it's first food - there's no mystery to it, no "gross" to it! When you were a baby, hopefully it was your mother's milk that sustained you, not baby formula.
If you're suggesting that they don't use the dairy from their animals in their own diets, that's not true. Like I posted above, the Masai people in Kenya's traditional diet consists largely of milk, and that's just one example. Yogurt and cheese are traditional parts of Arab diets, too. Yogurt is, in fact, an Arab invention. Feta cheese, too, is not a European concoction. And India also uses a lot of dairy in it's cooking - ghee, which is clarified butter, and a simple, fresh cheese are very common. The drink "lassi" is also a dairy-based beverage. In fact, cattle in India are traditionally not used at all for meat, but only dairy. So, again, it's not just Europeans who eat dairy, but also Asians, Africans, and Middle Easterners. ----------------------------------- And as for why humans would even think of using milk in the first place, well, the answer seems clear to me! All mammals drink milk, and, until fairly recently, all humans started their lives drinking milk, too. It is, and has always been, a substance that nature has very specifically tailored to be nutritious food! If you think about it, what else is so obviously stamped "GOOD FOOD!!" by nature? What else is so clearly designed solely for the function of nutrition? Nothing! Fruits, grains, meat, vegetables - these are used as food, but none are intended by nature solely as food and nothing else. Each one of these serves a variety of functions in nature quite distinct from it's use as nutrition for other species. But milk is the only product packaged and delivered by nature as the perfect nutrition for growing healthy young mammals. Brings to mind the old saying, "Safe as milk!"
i dont drink cow milk i drink Rice milk. I have always felt a bit sorry for the little rice pellets locked up all day and forcfully milked twice a day by the itty bitty milkers, but i take solice in the fact that after the rices are milked they are set free to enjoy full lives, well thats what my mom tells me to help me sleep at night.
