I'm always making clothes and pilows/cushions simultaneously. I get easily bored so need a few things on the go to keep occupied. Mentally occupied that is
I just took up making hemp jewelry last week, I learned in just a few minutes, and my first bracelet came out beautiful, so I made a necklace to match it. and I also made a tribal looking bracelet for my hubby I wish I had some pics of them to show you all but as soon as I get some I'll post them. Its so relaxing I could sit there all day and just make hemp jewelry, I just need to buy more supplies. I would eventually like to start making them for profit like so many other mama's on here do with their hobby's! I also make natural skincare products almost daily, and would like to start making them to sell soon as well. Ever since I started coming to this site I've been inspired by all the mama's on here that make beautiful clothing, I want to learn so badly, so my mother has offered to teach me a bit (she is the one after all that bought me a sewing machine a few years ago when I got married and its still un-touched in the box, I should definitly learn! lol)
God i haven't made jewellery in years, not since secondary school. I would definetely think about selling your skin care products though. A lot of women these days and men too, are tired of putting all those potions and that on their faces. They want the natural option. For instance, i wash my hair with lemongrass and macadamia nut. Smells beautiful. Think about selling it on the net as well, that can be a better business than in stores. Good luck
I'm getting ready for myy stall at the festival this week. be it designing buisness cards, making clothes, making jewelry and today i made my first batch of natural soaps
Hey Thanks yeah my husband wants to get me set up eventually with a website, and a nice catalog. I'd also like to see about getting my products in the natural health food stores in my area, they have a section for "local" skincare products. we have saved so much money on skincare products since I started making my own years ago, and we feel better using natural ingredients as opposed to using products filled with chemicals! by the way, that sounds so lovely what you wash your hair with! I love lemongrass
I've been getting beach glass and little dried up starfish and shells and things and making necklaces and things lately. This morning I crocheted a really cool hemp head scarf kinda thing with wooden beads on it, because I just shaved my head, and its really the only way I can dress it up a bit. ahahha. I love it.
trying to get ups to give me my damn sewing machine. they forgot to pull it from the truck this morning so when i went to pick it up it wasnt there...... AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am working on some glass bead braceletts (?) (the things you put around your wrist). The one I am currently making is orange and blue. I am trying to sell them at a middle age fair in my home village in september.
I'm working on a pair of pants for my wife, finishing up my tent, peicing together a "jordy" bag, and hopefully working on a pair of side panel cords and some new hemp jewelry. Place, I really need to finish cutting up a peice of leather I have to finish making the braid strands for 2 medicine bags I've finished. I FINALLY had some time for me yesterday (my wife rules, she wouldn't let me do any house work!) and I finished up nearly all of my tent (have to make the stuff sack, the tieouts and the bug net!), 2 pairs of shorts, and an ipod case.
I am currently making a lot of patchwork with 100% hemp summercloth and hemp corduroy. I am learning about natural dying with different plants and mordants. I love to tie-dye or vat dye the fabric with procion dyes
the side skirt is seminole (out of the summercloth) in watery blues and greens that i hand dyed. and the front and back panels are out of the five matching shades of blues and greens but in hemp corduroy. I plan on making a matching top...but just havent got there yet
i just finished a top l;ast nite ill have to get my camera up and running before i can show it off im gonna make another skirt tonite
a bit... plus my sis-in-law is going to be teaching me a bit of crotchet work (i wanna make a tam) and I've put a set of Professor Sprout (harry potter) robes on hold since I didn't get them down for the book release for my wife... I'm gonna try to finish before the movie comes out.
