The other night while riding around with a couple friends of mine, we rode over to 3rd Street in my hometown, Thomaston, Ga. Well, there was suppossed to be a ghost there and so we get to the street, get over the hill, slow down, and then turn our lights off and there she is. She had long brown hair, a white dress, and was walking in the street with her back turned toward us. As we rode by, we could never get very close to her and as we began turning a corner she dissappeard. I wasn't very scared, but my muscles really tightened up... I was really captivated. Some say that what we saw was an illusion caused by trees and a white house, but I swear I have never see an optical illusion that had a glow or walked with such a flowing glide! Any ideas? Ben.
Hello Ben! I am a big believer in ghosts. That is awesome. You are so lucky as to see one without even looking for one. Maybe you should do some research on that street, see the people who have been killed there, find and match a picture, do some research on that person and finally try to put the spirit to rest. It could be in distress. Who knows, you might be saving a lost soul. Luck to ya!
i have been able to see ghosts for a few years and i can also talk to them ghosts are normally electromagnetic energy fields that hav been imprinted on a certain place by sum1 who has crossed over. it is therfore likely she will appear again at the same time and same place try going back again to see
can someone tell me why the ghosts of females always seem to be in a long white gown, with long brown hair? not trying to say your story doesn't sound believable, i believe in ghosts very much, but i just wondered why people always say that.
Ghosts of females are often in long, white gowns because people expect them to be. Perhaps people see other female ghosts but don't realize that they are indeed ghosts. Perhaps some cases are people seeing something because they really want to see it so badly that it appears, even if it isn't otherwise real.
I told my girlfriend that I would take here to that place and show her what I saw. It is very strange about the brown hair and white dress thing, though...My girlfriend is afraid that if I take her we won't see anything because she thinks that is just her luck I told her to be prepared, though! Ben.
thats pretty cool.. when i was about 15 and my friend just got her car, four of us would go driving around on the weekends, because gas was cheaper back then and we had nothing better to do.. so one night, we decided to drive by this historical landmark called the Kell House (one of the founding families of the city lived there) and we drove by really really slowly, and as the glare from the streetlight passed over one of the second story windows, we saw this image of a little boy standing in the window.. i swear the hair on the back of my neck stood up.. Me and my friend Sarai both jot the impression that the little boys name started with a J - something like Johnathan.. we made it a habit to drive by a few times a night every time we went driving around.. we never saw the boy again, but we did see something that looked like a chair or something in front of the window.. so we got a little discouraged. and eventually, me, my friends Kacy and Sarai went to the Kell house in the day time to take the tour. well, we found out that the Kells did have a son, and his name was Joseph.. and the room with the window that we saw him in wasnt Josephs room.. but it's still freaky.. and the whole time we were on the tour, we could "feel" people following us. the house had a wonderful energy, very happy.. when we were down in the kitchen where there was like a solarium type room, i could almost hear the sound of children laughin.. it was really neat.. sometime when either Sarai or Kacy is here visiting, i think i'll ask them if they want to go take the tour again.. it was only $3 or something, and well worth it.
i have always been able to see and talk to gost. Ever seince i can remember i have had full convos with them. It also helps that we have a old town and an old house. Our house is over 100 years old and every day if you go around a corner in my house there is someone looking at me so i stop and say hello. some people beleive that gost are bad but their just like people. some are good and some are bad thats because they kinda were people befor they died. lol
Thanks for sharing your stories, everyone, they were very interesting to read (I really liked yours, daytripper). The white dress is something seen a lot in ghost sightings, and it always seems like they disappear right when they go around the corner. With me, I'm hardly perceptive to it, but occasionally I get little flashes of something that's not there, like a person walking, but it's usually not very detailed. I've always wanted to go to Gettysburg at night, because supposedly it's filled with ghosts.
A few years ago I used to see apparitions constantly- they might be around pretty often. For a while I roomed in a house that was reputedly haunted (the reason it was vacant) and would often see a short man wearing black walking around or following one of my friends. Sometimes he would peek in the doorway to see what was going on. Other people saw the same character also. The way I feel about these kinds of experiences is the suggestion that maybe there is more going on than we can normally perceieve, and at the same time maybe we dont need to always be aware of these things, in the light of our personal stories and lessons.
Women in White stories go back centuries; I've come across a number of them in books on German myths and legends, and all I can say is that they're just stories.
Me, I've never talked to one. I have seen them though. I think it's cause when I was a real little kid we lived right accross a cemitary... Well anyway, my parents split up and so my dad moved out and such. later in one of the houses hemoved into (i was like 10ish) I looked right up the stairs and there was a ghost. It was werid, and then later we saw the same one (my sister and I) in my room one night.
