That's exactly what I was thinkin' 'bout Wisconsin when I saw Madison mentioned.

Why the list was confined to cities and towns, I haven't a clue.

lol totally agreed.. and no.. you dont really have to go further north... the southern part of minnesota is nice and green as well... its just the area around the twin cities that is mostly shit... even though... apart from downtown areas.. the twin cities area is somewhat clean compared to other big cities... if you can look past downtown and the warehouse district and such... and get past the nasty urine like smell that waifs around at night... its not bad... but yea.. definately not the greenest spot in minnesota

They obviously aren't talking about the color green here...they mean the culture is friendly to environmentalists and veggies etc....whcih confuses me as to why Chicago is on there, thats a meat eating industrial city, and I like it for that.

Am I the only one who doesn't like Vancouver BC?

Yeah, I saw this list awhile ago since I have a subscription to Vegetarian Times. I was also happy about seeing Portland, Maine on there. I lived in Maine for 10 years and still go back once a year. I realized that they weren't talking green as in nature but in culture as someone already mentioned. There was also a list of the greenest towns which will probably seem a little more realistic since some of us have a hard time thinking of cities as green. ;). Belfast, Maine wasn't on there and neither was Ocean Beach, California which are 2 small towns that I have lived in that are green culturally if not environmentally.

Ooops, I'm blind...you already did put the list of towns (first) :& I just find it funny that Portland, Maine is listed as a town and not a city.
