Hi, well this morning my mum came in my room an had a real go at me an my plants cause they were kinda stinkin to house out, so we settled with a deal on moveing them outside.

there 3, 4 week old northen lights plants (about 30cm tall)so i was about to change em to 12/12. They were previously on 24/0 lighting so im wondering if the light cycle outside will be sufficient enough to put them into budding or will it take longer?

wot else should I take into consideration wen caring for my plants?

first consideration is the plants ability to adapt to sunshine.
northern lights is an indoor only strain.
Take it out on a cloudy day and it will still probably not make it.
    good luck you'll need it.
NL is probably the worst strain to try that with.

Northern Lights is one of the best plants to grow outside.
In fact, I've grown more Northern Lights outside in the last dozen years than any other strain.
It's very hearty and a great yielder.

If you have them inside under a 24/0 schedule, the plants will go into flowering as soon as you put them outside. Hopefully they won't revert back to veg. and continue to flower.

Certain strains are "touchy", they have narrow parameter's under which they can thrive.
NL is not one of these.

No thats just what the word is on NL, must just not do well in northern climates, most people im talkin to about it are way above our hemisphere belt.
    canada finland,sweden.
where are you in the usa an.scott?
they might do alright put em out in the morning on a cloudy day.I hear the major prob is them finishing before rain in northern climates. rain hits they melt.
    No shit.

Hahaha you're saying you know outdoor growers in Finland and Sweden?
    How about the north pole?
Northern Lights is recognized as a very hearty strain, and it doesn't have to be planted on a cloudy day either.

    Marijuana doesn't melt.

tiedye0420; what Northern lights are you talkin about?!? NL series are made for indoor growing & its a great strain for crossing. I have grown sensi's NL# inside, i had 3 from 10 seeds left so i put them outside last year in north Italy near the Alps. In the midle of sep. the temps are geting very low in the nights and 2 days constant rain has made my NICE flowering buds turn into garbage!!

In Italy near the Alps is not Sweden or Finland.
Check a strain guide/seed bank to find out more about Northern Lights.

I've grown 3 "versions" of northern lites. All did well outdoors, and finished by mid October. NL is recommended for beginners, because it's soooo easy to grow.

scott, if they've been under flourescents, it would be prudent to "harden them off", for a few days, if possible. If not, in a shaded/indirect sun spot for a few days untill they become acustomed to the intensity.
Taking them from 24/0 to OD, they should start budding in...2 weeks, I say.
Actually, plants planted in April or may are preparing to bud, any moment now. At, lets call it 35 degrees N.
