God is Love. If you spend you're life trying to understand it instead of living it what good does it do you?
thassa the beauty of anarchy . it like life is motion and really does have meaning only in that for sure . what then tis the difference of wasted or accounted for - not much . god , too , must be in motion to exist . does a dancer waste life ?
so true But I think we should try to understand it, too. If we are following God, we will be hungry for His Word. That goes without saying. But first and foremost, we must love God and our neighbors.
Let me count the ways... sorry, couldn't resist. I think Love is the force, it's what the universe is made out of. It's pure power. It's what we're made out of, but we also have our ego. This way we have something to excercise our freewill around. I think "evil" is just love twisted by our ego into something that doesn't benefit anything.
^because you aren't a Christian? No worries, mine doesn't either (except perhaps for some of the Christian mystics, but I find most mystics, from all faiths, tend to see "god" in similar ways).
The Bible states that God is not the author of confusion. So if God is showing a different view to people then the God of the Bible is a liar. The Bible states that there is a person call Satan, who is the father of lies, and he is the real one who is showing the different views of God. Since every religion counterdicts the other, it appears Satan is the one sending confusion into the world. More people have been killed in the name of religion, and that is what Satan really wants.
I dont believe Set had anything to do with the world of confusion. Its not confusing "aspects" of a god, they are all different gods. People get too hung up on consolidating gods into one, because they cant step out of the monotheistic box all the way. The confusion comes in when you try to jumble a bunch of gods from all over the world, into one deity, which is usually centered around the Biblical one. Yahweh was credited with lots of things he didnt do, like a bunch of cultural gods, but being raised in a Judeo-Christian world, people have a hard time divorcing themselves from him. They always fall back to "him" as the coparision point.
You finally get it. Wow. The answer isn't 42. That is why I am here, Sahib, for your pleasure and intellectual delight. If you bring me to the crack, I will smoke it.
Perhaps you should read the bible before commenting upon it? exodus 23:27 "I will send my terror ahead of you and throw into confusion every nation you encounter. I will make all your enemies turn their backs and run. " Deuteronomy 7:23 But the LORD your God will deliver them over to you, throwing them into great confusion until they are destroyed. Deuteronomy 28:20 The LORD will send on you curses, confusion and rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of the evil you have done in forsaking him. Deuteronomy 28:28 The LORD will afflict you with madness, blindness and confusion of mind. More importantly, you should get to know God before commenting upon God. Umm. Yeah. God never told a joke before.
In the Old Testament God gave us 300 prophecies to determine who to look for that would take the sin away from the world. Hundreds of years later one man showed up and fulfilled all of the prophecies. Jesus Christ is the God of all creation. All other God's can make their claims, but only Jesus fulfilled the 300 prophecies.
Perhaps you should consider the context that it is given before commenting upon it. God is not the author of confusion for those who seek Him. And God does not make jokes about eternal damnation.
