Last month I stoped taking my birth control because I had an allergic reaction to the pill. Now a month later I have not gotten my period, I took a pregnancy test even thought I was not sexually active in the past month, and I'm not pregnant. I've read that stoping the pill can delay your period. Has any one else ever experienced this? If So, how long before you period became regular? Thanks
well, I've just come off depo and I still havent' gotten my period. I was supposed to get a new injection on the 11th, still no period. Taking hormones can screw stuff up like that. Have you talked to your doctor at all about it? I'm sure that's a far more reliable source of info about the pill than us random internet folks are.
ewww i hate birth control... screws your whole body up. when i came off of it, i bled like crazy. stupid bc....
A friend of mine took the pill, then stopped taking it after a few month, and still hasn't got her period after a year. I dunno what's the matter with her now, but her doc said that if she still has no period, she should take a pill again, and come off of it again. But these are the reasons why I never took that crap. Actually, the pill doesn't stop ones period when you come off of it, it stops your real period when you start the pill. The bleeding one has looks like having a period, but medically it is something different. In germany the docs call it "withdrawel bleeding" because it only occurs if you stop taking the pill for 7 days, or take the placebos. If you skip either one of them, you don't bleed.
I was on the pill from when I was 14-23 and after getting off, it took several month until my period was getting back to regular. Getting away from hormonal birth control methods was the best thing I ever did to my body.
