Look, everyday I spot more and more reasons to leave this bottomless pit of anxiety and mind numbing media overload that we call a society. We waste everything, we cant live without cellphones and fucking pda's. Our drums have been replaced by i pods and our primitive connections to the earth replaced by, hate for the outdoors, of mosquittos and animals and fresh air.
I want to go and live as primitively as possible although I know that it is not possible to live 100% primitively. But I think I or we need a community or a collective, humans were meant to live with other humans. I need people, but only respond if you are serious, i dont need to make plans and have people flake out because they are afraid. Also if anyone has ideas about nomadic living or building a permanent to semi-permanent camp... let me know. I am rotting here, so if anyone feels the same let me know.

Wow bro, you read my mind, I've been trying to find people to do that for a while. My belief is that if we are from nature, then we should be living in nature, and a lot of our worldly problems would go away, Let me know more about your ideas, I'm sorta broke right now but I have a car, its not the nicest but its a honda so it runs pretty good, I'll hafta clean my life outta there though haha, Well just let me know whats up

    hi,

I have been thinking about living in the woods in a small tent commune of sorts with some of my friends from college. Its hard to save up tons of money for land and when you do you need to build a house and dig a well and things

but it would be very affordable to camp in the woods for a few months and filter clean water and bathe in the streams and things... I was reading a book about living off the land when it really struck me. I dont like hunting at all but beans and nuts and rice are all very cheap especially in bulk as an alternative. If we brought out some camping fuel and some tarps we could really get a taste of living in the woods for a long time. This is sort of a way to get back to the land in a very primitive way but one that doesn't require all the work of hunting and caring for spoilable foods. Powdered milk and eggs and bisquick are all great for this sort of thing.

RV's are awesome, but if you spend 2,000 on an rv and a few hundred bucks on gas. then compare it to bulk foods and some warm clothes it makes sense to live in the woods in tents and just walk or arrange for rides where ever you want to go. Solar showers work nice and it would probably be easy to fly down to florida for the winter on southwest or something similar if you couldn't take the winters here. This would be an easy way to start living simply with like 200 bucks or less. If you had a friend in a town near by and a job at subway or something you could use their showers occasionally and walk to work for extra cash and not feel totally alone in the woods. you could make things in the woods in your spare time. a friend of mine makes amazing beaded jewelery. She matches the colors in a way that other people dont think of. I think she could really make something people would like a lot and maybe sell them someplace.

anyway we might start later this summer or in the fall. I am not certain, but im excited. It might only be me in the end but im definately going to give it a go and see what happens. Let me know if you want to join up or if this sounds absolutely crazed.
