man.. if i could do that... that means everyone on the planet would own a little over 4 of the same album.... eh, its just money. :H
Haha, I've bought some albums more than once... that was back before I had CD burners and whatnot... Now if I lose the cd, I still have it all on computer.
have you tried your local youth orchestras? You can probably find loads of dedicated musicians with proper training to boot there who'll probably have picked up the guitar or drums for fun as well and will most likely have a natural flair for it. They're the REAL musicians after all.
"No we're the real musicians!" "No, we are!" "No, it's us. Really." "Now wait just a second..." "What?" "I don't know." "I'm confused (me either)." "Ok..." "Okay." I call it "Tromboner".
its a common problem for someone who wants to do something serious with music to be surrounded by people who don't. It's always been a waste of time for me to check out the local music shop postings. a lot of those annoying nu rock bands, inspired by nickleback, slipknot, creed, puddle of mud, etc. If you have more than one person you're serious with, and that's what you're throwing yourself at at this point in your life--go find people. if you live in a small town like i do (renos not that small, but our music scene sucks), its like finding one ripe berry in a barrel full of moldy ones. even musicians around here who could have been good, often aren't, because they lowered themselves to the popular typic and settled for it. go to a place like LA. a band around here that wasn't even that good, but really wanted to make it went to LA and found a singer and second guitarist in like 2 weeks. if you want my advice: don't sacrifice the quality of your music for popular mediocrity, but learn to work with a lot of different genres and styles, so you can fit a lot of different types of talented musicians into your music. for example, why be a singer/songwriter rock band when you can be a celtic/jazz/blues jam band? you'll be able to play with a lot more people, and won't find yourself dissapointed if you finally find talented musicians who are serious about doing something, but may not be exactly your style.
