This works okay for me, although it can't get 100%:

Put the glass piece in a plastic bag, fill it halfway with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol, 70%) and some salt (salt won't dissolve in alcohol, so it's like sand). Zip up the bag and swish it around a lot. The salt, ideally, will scrape off all the resin on the inside of the piece. The water will smell disgusting and will look like someone put a handful of dirt in it.

    Good luck

Formula 88 degreaser . i know it works becouse i cleans the tree sap out of chainsaws . is not petrolium base. cleans = tobbaco tar, tree sap, grease, aircondition filters@evapotator & condenser. car engines, etc etc. another name used for the clearner is Purple Blaster .

hmmm... not too bad... but I hate to burst your bubble... some degreasers leave a toxic residue behind after they are used, unless otherwise specified. I would be a little careful using those kinds of cleaners... (seems a little overkill to me, I've never gotten tree sap on my pieces...)
