The Potuguese extra man played a blinder but cannot understand WHY he was wearing black not the colours of the other Portuguese players can anyone explain that to me please.
Well England are out due to the antics of a HOMER referee booking any English player for any little thing that is SMALL brain can understand.
Ignoring the Portugease illegal tackles when Vassell's came on after Rooney was crippled by there full back he was upended by the Portugease player who got the foul giving to him by the Swiss CUCKOO.
Everyone around the world who was watching the match saw a brilliant headed goal by Camplbell the Linesman who was up with PLAY saw it and waved for a goal the CUCKOO poser ref was 30 yards away disallowd it he saying now it was for pushing he was of the play did not consult his linesman or whatever.
Why was this CUCKOO given the match he had already show his colours in Denmark 5 minutes extra time so the Danes can score a goal then whistle for time.
Well has the CUCKOO a VILLA in the sun now ?.
The football authorities will go along saying they can do nothing about this mis-carriage of justice.
England know the FIFA, UEFA do not like them saying the fans are this and that.
Do noe say a lot about other Nations supporters it is all English.
Take Heysel in the 80's English teams were banned fron any European competions but not the Italians in one photo a Italian suppoerter was aiming a gun at the Liverpool supporters.
Then the ban on Ferdinand for forgetting about the drug test, if it had been any other nationality than English the German dictator of World football would not have called for a example to be made.
We have had Dutch, Italian, Russian failing dope tests and being given less punishment where is the justice in that.
Before anny starts about biasness I am off Irish descendant and we were cheated out of a place by a convicted Russian drug footballer who scorned the goal that put Ireland out he should not have been on the pitch the drug cheat.
But the competition go'es on regardless of action by the authorities,
I MYSELF WHAT LIKE A REACTION FROM THE ENGLISH FA TO IT IS THAT ASKING FOR TOO MUCH FROM THESE SUIT PEOPLE.
I most sincerly hope tha the Portuguese CHEATS do not win it
Must admit Ericsson tactics were very naive to say the least he most shoulder some of the blame not the GREAT manager everone says that he is.
VERY MUCH A OVERRATED MANAGER FOR WHAT HE AS ACHIEVED.
DEFEATS IN TWO QUARTER FINALS BECAUSE OF HIS TACTICS

I'm very happy for Greece, though I also like the French team...I wish the Greeks keep playing this well, they were a nice surprise for me, they are strong and they're trying hard!

Yesterday, in the evening, I went out to Bairro Alto, here in Lisbon, and I saw a lot of Greeks...They were very happy, they were celebrating and they were very friendly to us;) In spite of being a bit sad, the French fans were celebrating with them... I thought it was awesome...In fact, yesterday everyone was feeling fine, everyone was talking and dancing in the streets! Portugueses, French, Greeks, Germans, Dutch, English...all together! There were no riots, nothing could spoil the joy!:D
I felt surprised that there were no riots, because two weeks ago I was in Algarve and the english fans's behaviour was pretty scary. I am sorry to say this to all the nice english people here, but they looked like barbarians. I was walking in the streets and I kept seeing drunk english guys, insulting the authorities and creating problems. Once again, I don't want to offend anyone, but I really thought that the only thing they deserved was that the cops kicked their ass. I've never seen such a disrespect because of footbal. It was completely uncivilized. And now some people say it was the authorities's fault. That makes me feel a bit shocked , because I saw what I saw. I'm not talking for what I saw in the newspapers, I'm not talking about something I know nothing about, I'm talking of what I saw with my own two eyes and of what I truely know.
It's too bad that some people still don't accept that sometimes we win and sometimes we loose. It's too bad that some people still have to blame the others bacause they lost. It's too bad that some people can't even give congrats to their adversary when their adversary plays better. It's too bad that some people still don't respect the others, even if the others are from onother country.
Now, I have a message to those people... If you come to Portugal you have to respect us and all the people in here... If you don't, you're gonna be arrested, yes you are, because we don't have to tolerate your disrespect and your arrogance. You can accept it or not, but if you lost it was because the other team played better. Don't blame the others for what happened to your team and mostly don't try to blame us for your stupid behaviour. Don't mess with us, ok?

I also have a message to the other kind of fans... It has been a pleasure having you here, you guys are friendly people, you brought joy to our country, everyone is gonna miss you!!! ;)

Good Luck to all the teams!!!

My dear Birdy the Bird. I was born in Europe, i have 100% European blood, I have lived 11 years of my life in, or almost in Europe, and have always, since an early age, followed European football, and i have never ceased to. Europe is my favorite continent... and my favorite football.

    Dear Ayesha,

I am sorry that you have had to experience the behaviour of a minority of English fans, I don't know what the reason for their aggresion and violence is, but yes it does happen and at those times I feel sad to be British.

You know all the radio and tv stations have been saying just how wonderfully welcoming the Portuguese have been to the English, and it seems to be a genuinely good natured tournament, please don't let the antics of a small number of thugs spoil it for you.

 On an even sadder for me note, in a neighbouring town called Thetford, a poor portuguese man has had his pub smashed, and he and some of the local portuguese population( there is a portuguese community of about 600 people in Thetford) who were watching the match on a tv in his pub were laid seige to for two hour by an angry mob of english "supporters", before being rescued by the police.

    Considering changeing my nationality,

    yours sadly

    Moominmamma

Poor old Sweden didn't deserve that. I really thought they were the better side, certainly in Extra Time when they hit the post and the bar a few times, although there wasn't much in it overall. I think Holland have been poor this tournament and would have liked to see Sweden go through. Penalties are such an unfair way to go out.

I'm with Moominmamma on changing my nationality due to the terrible behaviour of a minority of so-called England supporters. I'm already an honorary Finn but for the rest of this tournament I'm going to consider myself an honorary citizen of the Czech Republic, I really believe they can win it. Even if it does mean they'll have to knock out Denmark, meaning there'll be no teams remaining from my adopted Scandinavia. Oh I get so confused!

    Come on you Czechs!

(Sorry to the Danish people on this forum:))

    MoominMamma :)

    You are very gentle ;)
I feel angry with those stupid fans, but don't worry, yesterday I also met english fans that were very nice!
Anyway, it's sad that people act like that...And they keep complaining when we are the ones who have reasons to do it!
I hope that the fans who did that to our portuguese comunity are punished... Who do they think they are?
These kind of things make me mad .................
Anyway... MoominMamma, don't worry, we don't let them spoil our joy...We are all very happy!!! And as you said, they are a minority...It isn't your fault... But they already know they are fucked up because we won't tolerate them!

Moominmamma just about said it all - we were both so saddened to wake up on Friday morning and hear of the events in Thetford.

What gets me to me is the role nationalism plays in both this championship and the soon to commence Olympics. I will happily wave them both good-bye and welcome the start of the English Premier league - principally because my team
Norwich City are back after a 9 year absence. And when the season kicks off, the team will consist of a Swede, a Morrocan, three Scots, two Irishman, a Jamacan and three Englishmen, (one of whom should have been in goal instead of David James) - me and the rest of the fans in the stadium won't care what flag they born under cos they'll be winning, (hopefully) for us!

I'm often thinking about, if Moominpappa and moominmamma actually live under the same roof, or if they just date on the net. :p

    love,

    !\ ! /\ /\ (_’ (_’
    ! \! \/ \/ _ ) (_ o ,_, -

p.s. and don't feel shame on behalf of the minority of troublemakers. I believe, and I'm sure most other Europeans believe, that the hooligans are just a small (but loud-speaking) minority. The average english fan is very enthusiastic, but not violent or stupid at all. I'm sure most people know that. :)

:) Thank you for your kind words about English football fans Wolf. Since I have been married to Moominpappa (his real name is Peter, mine is Sue) for over twenty years, I find the idea of us being internet daters kind of amusing;)

I was the first to start posting on Hip Forums, and Peter suggested I call myself Moominmamma (after the mother in the Tove Jansson childrens stories) as he often calls me by that name. So, when he decided to answer a few posts, he called himself Moominpappa. We have different tastes so can rarely be found in the same forums!

Not the best match of the tournament, but we made it!
I think the Netherlands deserved to win, looking at the complete match.
Sweden had some bad luck hitting the post and bar in the extra time, but so did we before the extra time.
Looking forward to meet Portugal, should be an exciting and spectacular game!

Today will be a close match too I think, but I give Denmark a good chance against the Czechs.

The CzechRep was not that much better than Denmark, but they have killers.
That made the difference in a match that could as well been won by Denmark.
At least it was a match worth watching for about an hour.

Ay, it was a good match, both teams were attacking... rather equal posession... the Czech Republic just showed more intuition in those 15 minutes, and amazingly scored 3... The goals weren't spectacular, the Pavel Nedved passes were more of a show... anyhow, they've almost guaranrteed a seed in the final...
