One could also argue that contrary to the typical sort of wartime propaganda any invading and occupying power feeds its public, those fighting in Iraq are far broader than the odd pockets of outside radical influence but very much comprised of everyday Iraqis from both Sunni and Shia populations who see correctly amidst all the exposed lies so far, the actual agenda of perpetual domination intended by the PNAC agenda and for which Saddam was toppled and the process of installing new US corporate friendly puppets has been underway.

Just ask yourself if you would sit by and watch friends and neighbours arrested, interrogated, tortured or killed by foreign occupying forces without taking up arms as your patriotism would demand.

Why should you presume Iraqis or any other nationality would do any different? If we truly went to bring them self determination then even their potential choice of theocracy must be respected as their sovereign will.

Stop swallowing the BS spin from an already repeatedly exposed lying and unaccountable administration. It's not our country and the sooner we get the hell out and cease the imperialist lust for global hegemony the sooner we can cease worrying about our daily troop losses and begin to act constructively (rather than militantly and destructively) to undermine the conditions of exploitation and hopelessness from whence radicalism derives its presently increasing appeal.

sad, but true. all these people seem to demonize all these fighters, when in reality, they are most likely just like you and me, people who believe in something and will fight for it.

the first rule of war is rationality. (that is, if you have intelligence. there will always have to be an ignorant and passionate set of soldiers that the elite will use for their own purposes). Let's say the iraqis are doing the same thing to us, demonizing our troops. we dont seem to have any problem seeing the 'human' side of our own troops, why are we so blind as to acknowledge anyone else's? then again, i guess thats just ignorance, for ya.

I dont see the point you are trying to make by connecting my post above with the Kent State massacre, but for the record Ive cited that very event numerous times here and elsewhere to counter the sort of delusional belief (often posted by those who refuse to question the inconsistencies of the "official" 9/11 explanation of events) that our US government would never attack nor kill its own citizens to advance its war agenda.

One can also look back to the Korean War era of the 1950's to find another example of the willingness of our federal government to massacre its own to quell dissent (see: Bonus March). In that case, not only were they American citizens but military veterans who were gunned down.

You obviously have no idea what the IRA stand for... and calling the iraqis "attackers" is wrong because it was us who attacked...

Let the blowhards who call Iraqis who dare fight against foreign invasion (as they have always done throughout their turbulent history of victimisation at the hands of foreign powers) "terrorists" find their own neighbourhoods and towns crawling with foreign troops come to "liberate" us and you can bet (as ive stated many times before) that theyd be up on their roofs shooting whatever soldier they could get in their sites in true patriotic fashion.

The fact that the press of the invading power would be replete with indictments of our "terrorist" insurgency against their wholesome intentions wouldnt deter the average American from assuming unto him/herself the mantle of freedom fighter. Yet these same fall hook line and sinker for the corporate led media recriminations against Iraqis (and attempts to suggest its all foreign fighters).

    Cultural relativism at its finest.
