I've got a about four plants, one of which looks to be turning out male. Thing is, I'm not too eager to tear the male out, would like to grow him up and use the leaves for baking. How far away from the females is far enough? Are the females pollenated by wind and air? Bees? If I put the male up on the roof and leave the girls on the deck, is there still danger of the females going to seed? Quick, they're growing like stink!

about 4 plants? you not sure?! :p

i'd get the male out the room asap if i was you, not worth risking having a load of seeded bud for the sake of a few skanky male leaves ( they smoke nasty anyway imo )

pollen gets carried by the wind, you could even carry it on your clothes and drop it off on the females

unfortunately i might be getting seeded bud this time, found a male this morning that i can't believe i've missed until now  :( i usually catch them well early - i swear this plant grew bollox over the weekend! i checked and watered friday before going away - how did i miss them?!

How far to the garbage can?..
I agree, males aren't worth the bother keeping for consumption.

Males don't grow buds, just females.
However, males CAN be used. They provide a mild buzz (great if that's all you got) and the leaves can also be used for cooking/drinking purposes (slow dry cure first then extract THC).

    yes, seperate them!

it only takes one male to do the dirty deed and instead of your female(s) growing nice smokeable bud, it'll concentrate on making seeds instead. what do you want at the end of this - bud to smoke, or a load of seeds?

if you want seeds, keep that male ...

if you really want to keep the male you'll have to move it to another room, but like i said - you could still carry its pollen and pollinate the female by accident. imagine spending 3 or 4 months growing your female, looking after it, feeding it, watering it - only at the end of it to get a load of seeds. i'd be gutted - i want nice bud not seeds!

chop it down!!! ;) smoke the leaves if you want or follow ranger dangers advice with the cooking/drinking
