I have had several instances at night where my bed would be vibrating.... by vibrating, I dont mean that it shakes violently, it moves as if someone is lying there breathing, and the bed moves accordingly. I thought at first it could be me moving the bed with my breaths, but I would stop breathing, and still would feel the bed moving up and down calmly..... sometimes when I feel that presence, I would try to sleep and I would feel like something around me (something I cant quite explain). I would feel a floating sensation... other times I would almost fall asleep and feel myself spinning in my bed...... what could be goin on here???

    you're in a hynagogic state;
hallucinations, heightened emotions and greater awareness of ones surroundings are very common right before a person falls asleep. loss of voluntary muscle control and sensation of movement are usual.
    check out: http://www.geocities.com/soho/gallery/3549/pa_sp3.html
or any info on the study of sleep..

it's really interesting. so many times i'll fall semi-asleep then wake up because i "heard" a loud bang. i used to think it was actually a real noise, a car backfiring or something, but after awhile i realized that i was just doing it myself.

"...Mavromatis (1987) provided a summary of auditory hypnagogic/hypnopompic phenomena:

"Auditory hypnagogic [and also hypnopompic] phenomena include the hearing of crashing noises, one’s name being called, a doorbell ringing, neologisms [new words or expressions], irrelevant sentences containing unrecognizable names, pompous nonsense, quotations, references to spoken conversations, remarks directed to oneself, meaningful responses to one’s thought of the moment." (p.81).

Other reported imagery includes music, bangs and explosions. Sometimes auditory hypnopompic imagery can take the form of a warning of impending danger or an important event; other times it may just be a feeling of foreboding (Mavromatis, 1987).

Sensations of smell (e.g. cigars, roses), taste (e.g. sweet), sensations of actively touching or being passively touched by someone or something, and hot or cold sensations, sometimes moving along the body, have also been reported during the hypnagogic and hypnopompic states (Mavromatis, 1987)..

A sensation of falling seems to be the most commonly reported sensation of movement. The experience is relatively common and is often associated with a bodily jerk and visual imagery, such as falling off a cliff (Oswald, 1959). Other sensations of movement may include floating, swinging, rocking, spinning, and being in or on a moving vehicle. Bodily sensations may include, for example, a feeling of energy flowing through the body, weightlessness, heaviness, tingling, numbness, shaking/vibrating, and elongation of the body. A sense of presence has also been reported (e.g. Ohayon, Priest, Caulet, & Guilleminault, 1996) and may coincide with both imagery and sleep paralysis (Conesa, 1995; Hufford, 1982; Rose & Blackmore, 1996; Spanos et al., 1993, 1995). Feelings of foreboding or being under threat, or more general feelings of confusion and disorientation, have also been reported..."

so there may be no need to do any chanting or anything.... according to sleep psychologists, physicians, you're totally normal. :p

    ha ha

    peace

hmm that could be part of it, but as of last night, I felt my bed breathing just as I got into bed..... I wasnt even near falling asleep....... all the other stuff like spinning and floating, sure, that could be an explanation, because I fell right asleep afterwards....

but the bed breathing thing is different.

well a lot of people with sleep disorders experience sleep-related hallucinations during their waking day - at work, while walking down the street, they aren't consciously feeling tired but their mind is still in alpha mode and their bodies will display the same responses regardless.
perhaps as you're getting ready to go to bed, getting into bed, you're already tired, you are consciously aware but under the surface your body is already underway & preparing for sleep.
don't mean to diss all the people in the psychic forum but... occam's razor, you know. easiest explanation seems appropriate.

It can't hurt to try - you may feel stupid at first.. Anyway, visualize yourself in a protective sphere, a sphere that won't allow any harmful/negative energies in. After this, have a dialogue with whatever may be in the room, telling it that if it has any negative intentions that it is not welcome and must leave never to harm a living being. Now tell it that if it is positive, you welcome its support and will try to be open to its guidance. Ussually something this basic will allow you to discover its (if it is a spirit of some sort) intentions.

Yeah your soul man, you know how you astral travel and you can feel it coming out of you sometimes, yeah google lucid dreaming, experment. There is also biofeedback technology where you put these things on your fingers and use your mind and breathing to juggle balls on the screen. Yeah its your soul man moving.
