I'm from Saginaw (a city in Michigan by the Bay) and I can't wait to get out of there in 3 years to fulfil my dream of going to Wellesley. Hey there everyone! My name's Emi, and I just joined. I'm 15, and live in the U.S. I'm so glad I found a place with more people like me! Well, let me just introduce myself.

I go to the Governor's School for the Arts, which is a regional program that runs during the school year. It's for students who are gifted in the areas of instrumental music, vocal music, dance, drama, and visual art. I myself am in the instrumental music, where I play flute (but I also play guitar and sing).

Speaking of music, I listen to TONS of it. I really love Joni Mitchell, Janis Joplin, Allman Bros, Pink Floyd (they get me every time), Tom Petty, and a whole lot more, but to list them all would take forever. My dad raised me on classic rock, so thats pretty much what I listen to.

As far as myself, I'm an oddball. I care a lot about other people, and try my best to never be mean. I'm very open-minded about things, and try my best to respect other cultures and interests, even if they're not for me. I dont believe in violence, because I think the best way to solve things is through talking and trying to understand one another. I am against the war, and against Bush. I'm a really big supporter of trying to bring relief to the starving and sick people in Africa. I mean, if we dont help them now, then who's gonna set the example for other generations? Its like what Mandella said "Every generatioin has a chance to be great." I just think that this is ours.

Whoa... you live in Portsmouth I'm going to the ABB/moe./Sun Dried Opossum concert at the beach today. I was going to go to the governor's school... we were hoping to move to Portsmouth, but we had to stay around Gloucester and take care of my grandmother, though she died... But she wasn't dead then.

 

Dude, thats totally awesome!! We should chat sometime and talk about life in VA and such. I cant believe you were gonna go to GSA!! What department?? Have fun tonight!

 

Instrumental... I played more instruments than I could really keep track of, at the time. (I mostly just focus on guitar now). I was in the gifted program and whatnot when I was in public school, then I seperated from all of that (Mostly became tired of dealing with the schools in my county) and enrolled in Keystone, so now I'm homeschooled. I'm planning on moving to Ohio... Can't ever find places to play that I enjoy.

Oh, yay, that makes me smile...someone else who likes nature. It seems like all the kids where I live prefer to "explore the great indoors" (to quote John Mayer). I keep begging my parents to uninstall the cable, and let me go out for walks more, but they just think its "odd" for a kid my age to want to go out for walks barefoot all the time.
