Not sure about that "where it is legal" bit. I was on the planet Earth today where it is legal. But since I don't drive I got the train home barefoot instead.
Hello. I use to go barefoot all the time, but now I just don't enjoy it the way I use to. Too many filthy places and too much garbage being tossed in the streets. Now I wear sandals for safety reasons when out in public. However, when I am home, it's all about the barefoot!
Actually, I have read allot on the issue at barefooters.org, and a few other misc sites. But if you really don't mind, that would be cool if you could get me a copy, just so I can have if the need ever occurs. Thanx!!
hmm well up here in Canada i dono if its illegal or what not... But i drive barefoot all the time? i don't think its a big deal up here.. hahha jusst cuz you can really only do it 3 months out of the year sometimes not even.. u never kno with the snow i say,
I have noticed that about peacefuljeffrey, but his points are always good. And there are, as he keeps pointing out, so many control freaks in our midst, who like nothing better than try to manipulate whoever they see. Worse than that, there are many more among us who are only too ready to voluntarily comply with such (real or imagined) "rules." Never even occurred to me there could be any problem with driving barefoot. I do it all the time except in the dead of winter. As with most of my other habits, I don't wait around for "permission." There are problems with some stores, as we all know, but the barefooters sites helped me out there! All the permission I needed.
I rechecked. It IS illegal in 47 states. It is legal in Alabama, Mississippi, and Alaska. But who would do it in Alaska?
I heard and read both legal and illegal, but who cares? I always carry a pair of flip-flops in case I get pulled over. You can easily slip them on and no one is the wiser
I remember hearing stories like this since I started driving over twenty years ago. I've driven barefoot on numerous occasions, sometimes having a pair of slippers or flip-flops nearby. I've never gotten caught.
It's funny how those who claim it's illegal can never come up with actual quotes, while those of us who claim it is, can: http://web.archive.org/web/20030618.../legal/driving.barefoot/driving_barefoot.html
You must just be fucking retarded. What you would get, personally, out of lying about this is beyond me. -Jeffrey
Damn dude. Why you always gotta be so anal? I agree that it IS legal and all, but you don't always have to get all hostile towards people who differ in opinion other than your own. Chill Out.
I've had a cop tell me it was not legal. I asked him to show me the section in his QwikCode (the portable Vehicle Code book every traffic cop has in his car) and I'll let him cite me for it and I'll pay it without contesting (knowing it'll pad his quota). He couldn't find it. We had a laugh, he learned something. This was in California.
its all a myth people. it's legal in all 50 states to drive barefoot. i have a link somehwere that goes state by state, with only a few mentioning it's not recommended. just can't seem to find where i put it, hmmmm maybe its in my shoes??? i'll post it as soon as i can find it.
