The first thing you should ask yourself when you talk about the London Bombing, is who benefits? Who has the motive?

Cui bono? Stupidity Versus Logic in the Latest “Terror” Attack

    by Anthony Wade

    July 7, 2005

Wow, al Qaeda must be the stupidest terrorists, no wait, stupidest people period, on this entire planet. Their purported goal is to shake the will of the western powers that have invaded Iraq, and to drive them out, no? Then can someone please explain to me the logic of the London bombings? No seriously, it is time to apply logic to these events. Please do not hand me the nonsense about these people being “killers” who do not apply logic. You do not become the number one terrorist organization without having some logic, no? We are expected to swallow that these people were smart enough to circumvent our billion dollar intelligence and air defense systems with box cutters, but they cannot play coherent cause-effect scenarios out in their mind prior to carrying out terrorist activities? I doubt that very much.

Just this week, it was reported that England had drafted plans to pull out their troops, gone, see you later, victory for al Qaeda, right? So we are to believe then that the orchestrated response to these plans was to blow up a double decker bus, in England. Now, can you guess what the most likely response to such an event would be:

    1) Pull the troops out faster
    2) Galvanize public support, thus keeping the troops in Iraq

Those of you that selected number one, I will assume you work for the Bush administration. Those of you that selected number two, good job. Now that we have established the enormous stupidity in the England bombings, the next logical front to examine is here in the United States.

Let’s examine the political climate here in this country just prior to this “attack”. Support for the Iraq War was at an all time low. People were unmoved by the President’s speech, dropping his overall approval rating to 43%. The drums of impeachment were growing louder with each passing day, with the revelations that the Downing Street Memos do indeed prove that George Bush committed felonies in lying to Congress and starting war without Congressional approval. Also on our political front was the Valerie Plame story and how it appears there is a good chance that Karl Rove committed treason in outing a covert CIA operative, who just happened to be assigned to uncovering WMD. Considering the closeness of Rove to Bush, if these allegations proved to be true, then how much of a stretch is it to assume Bush had complete foreknowledge of the revenge against Joe Wilson by outing his wife.

Now the corporate media has tried very hard to ignore these stories. We have had coverage of the Michael Jackson trial, and most recently the missing girl in Aruba for months now as Bush’s world unraveled daily. No offense to the Holloway family but the story about Natalie’s events should not be a lead story on any news show, with the possibility of impeachment, treason, and the Iraq War events happening daily. But there was our media, firmly in the pocket of George Bush, pimping the pain of the Holloway family as the most important news story. This aside though, the real stories were finally starting to poke through. Mainstream media received so many complaints about their ignoring potentially Bush-damaging stories, that they finally had to cover them.

Now, from al Qaeda’s perspective one would logically conclude this is a good thing. We were told by the Bushies that a vote for John Kerry was a vote for al Qaeda because they were so afraid of the great warrior, Bush. Considering the plummeting poll numbers for Bush and calls from the grass roots in this country for his political head, one should conclude that al Qaeda would be happy that the news had finally turned its attention to the possibility of getting rid of Bush. Please do not hand me the nonsense about how they do not look at these events. We are led to believe that al Qaeda runs their own website so they can leak stories that help Bush and claim credit for their own terrorist activities so it is obvious they are on the cutting edge of technology and Internet news.

So I ask again, given that the events in the US are in the favor of al Qaeda, and that public opinion for the war had been steadily eroding, I must ask the obvious question. Why in the world would they now carry out another terrorist mission? Are we honestly to believe they did not think about what the ramifications were? If the war was going poorly for them and the world was united against them, then I could understand an attack to break our will, but when things are going well, why in the world would they carry out this attack? It has now been reported that:
“BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner said a previously unknown group calling itself the Secret Organisation Group of al-Qaeda of Jihad Organisation in Europe had claimed to be behind the attacks in a statement posted on an Islamist website.
The group's statement said the attacks were revenge for the "massacres" Britain was committing in Iraq and Afghanistan and that the country was now "burning with fear and panic", he added.”
Uh-huh. So, al Qaeda carried out the attacks for the massacres committed by the British troops, which are miniscule in comparison to the US. They further carried out the attacks in complete obliviousness to the news of the imminent British troop pullout. They further carried out these attacks despite the fact that Bush’s poll numbers were in the toilet and heading lower, leading to a possibility of impeachment. They further carried out these attacks even though the media had finally begun to cover the stories that could be potentially damaging to the entire war machine that they are fighting against. Wow, they are some stupid terrorists.
The level of stupidity is equal to when Osama bin Laden released his latest hit video, four days before the Presidential election. Surely he must have realized that would have only aided Bush, yet there he was providing America with a little fear before the election, a move that only could have helped Bush. Today, here is his little outfit, al Qaeda, once again coming to the aide of his alleged arch-nemesis Bush.
Cui bono is a Latin phrase which simply means, “Who benefits?” and it is the question we need to be asking ourselves. What does al Qaeda gain from this attack? The only logical answer can be, NOTHING. It will instill fear in the populace which could lead to a galvanizing of public support for the war they are fighting. It may lead to England changing their plans about pulling out their troops. It will give the US corporate media an excuse to not cover the stories that had been corroding the support for Bush. Instead of the potential impeachment, treason by Karl Rove, and the Downing Street Memos, the corporate media will be hammering the story about the terror attacks in England and how they show the need for this continuous war. I am sorry but when asking cui bono, it is clear that al Qaeda does not benefit from this attack, as it undermines everything they are working toward.
The war machine however, they benefit greatly. Their two main proponents, Bush and Blair get to play on people’s fears and reinvigorate support for their war. This event is only a few hours old, but here are their initial responses:
"They are trying to use the slaughter of innocent people to cow us, to frighten us out of doing the things that we want to do. They "should not and they must not succeed," – Tony Blair.
Really Tony? But your government had already decided to pull the troops out of England, so why would they need to carry out this attack and risk England changing their minds? No Tony, there is clearly no logic behind this attack and they clearly are not trying to frighten a people who have already agreed to pull out their troops, and who only represent less than 5% of the troops to begin with.
Here is what our fearless leader, Bush, had to say today:
“"The war on terror goes on."
Ah yes, every now and again, people who lie for a living slip up and reveal the truth. This statement reveals exactly the purpose of the attacks, and answers the question, cui bono. Faced with plummeting poll numbers and declining public support Bush tried last week to calm the storm by going to the American people with more fantasies connecting 911 to Iraq. The American people did not buy it this time though and his numbers got worse. Then the “Karl Rove is a treasonous traitor” stories started popping up and Bush was faced with the prospect of his war not continuing and his staunchest ally, England announced their plans for pulling troops out just as George was saying what a mistake it would be to make such plans. The morale in the al Qaeda camp must have been at an all time high. Their efforts in the war were finally paying off. Bush was losing his public support and his own country was beginning to speak about removing him from office. His top aide was under investigation for possible treason. England had started to make plans to pull out their troops.
So it is at this time, we are to believe that an organization smart enough to pull off 911, decided to throw away all the progress mentioned above, to frighten a people whose government only has 5% of the current troops in the war on terror, and had just decided to pull those troops out? The word stupidity would not cover this decision. It is unfathomable in its illogic.
I understand this raises things we do not want to consider. Well, consider this. In the early 1960’s your government considered operations that would sacrifice innocent, civilian American lives in order to start a war with Cuba. I will not rehash Operation Northwoods (
http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/news/20010430/) here except to point out that it is horribly naïve to assume people in power, would not seek to abuse that power for their own ends. If this was true in 1962, it is even truer in 2005.
We see the images of terror on the television and we remember our fear, just like we were supposed to. Our President will use this attack to rebuild all he has lost in support and we cannot allow that to happen. This attack does not change the fact that George Bush started his war 6 months prior to obtaining Congressional approval. It does not change the fact that he knowingly lied to Congress to go to war, fitting his intelligence around his policy. It does not change the fact that Karl Rove apparently may have committed treason against the United States. Don’t let him use this tragic event to sway us from pursuing the truth. Don’t let him.
    Cui bono America, Cui bono.

That's because it isn't about anything that makes sense in this world.

If people simply set their emotions and programmed beliefs aside for just one moment and really stopped to think: "who most stands to gain from this?", it becomes painfully clear that it is the government. Not exactly the government as a whole, but the globalist factions within it.

The problem is, most people have been conditioned from the time they were little to believe that their country isn't capable of such things.

All this al-Qaeda nonsense sounds more and more ridiculous with each passing day. It's almost laugh-worthy that people can believe such crap. This was clearly a coordinated, well-planned attack, and yes, it does have British and Israeli intelligence written all over it. Are we supposed to believe that al-Qaeda is as technologically advanced as the media wants us to think?

Like the article alludes, it's all about boosting the fear and getting people to accept further military action in the Middle East. Not to mention the very unpopular National ID card that Blair wants for the British people.

Oh, and notice how the media is now saying it's believed that a "Syrian al-Qaeda terrorist" was involved in the attacks, when they have no real evidence pointing to this as being the case, and no real suspects? I said on Thursday, the day this happened, that in a few days they would roll out somebody from Syria or Iran. Well, they haven't rolled anyone out yet or provided any real evidence as to who orchestrated these attacks. But supposedly we're to automatically believe the perpetrators were from Syria. How convenient.

Fortunately, this latest attack is going over fewer and fewer people's heads. Even the British mainstream media is teeming with reports alluding to possible government involvement.

While many people are more dumbed-down than ever before, thanks to the media and the mindless entertainment it provides, more and more people really are waking up to what's going on. This gives me at least some hope.

Thanks for posting this, Dan. It's about time people start hearing the views of real people and not the talking heads on CNN and FAUX News. Too fucking bad if it angers or annoys people.

Predictable? What's predictable is you concluding everything is a conspiracy. Do you think that anyone at HipForums wasn't expecting you to rush over to Rense, copy whatever conspiracy theory he rushed together in response to the attacks, and then paste it here? You are as predictable as they come. Here's a prediction - whatever Rense says, you will believe and memorise. Rense is a sheep herder.

Convenient? Convenient is you concluding that everything is the fault of the jew/Illuminati conspiracy. Isn't it convenient that this looks like a false flag operation - since of course by your definition any conceivable terrorist attack would look like a false flag operation, a perfect circular logic approach. Isn't it convenient that this "has Israeli intelligence written all over it" since Israeli intelligence controls the entire planet through a vast conspiracy, virtually every event occurring anywhere "has Israeli intelligence written all over it".
Maybe your definition of technologically advanced is somewhat different than mine. Do you consider the ability to make a simple bomb with a timer to be an astounding feat of engineering? Do you believe that getting four people to meet at a train station and then board trains and a bus in order to leave bags behind to be a feat of military precision on par with the most elite special forces teams in the world? I know Rense told you these things, and you obediently repeat them, but don't you think they have a certain flaw in the sense that they are mind numbingly stupid?

Overlooking, as is your penchant, the already acknowledged reports that the bombs were not simple homemade explosives but highly sophisticated timed devices which went off within seconds of each other in 5 locations. Compound that fact with the well known unreliability of London transport and it would take considerably more tactical transport-infrastructure orchestration than 5 shadowy fanatics simply boarding 5 trains to achieve such a multiple result in all 5 stations nearly simulataneously.

Just keep bleating and await for the suits and ties to tell you it was "Al Qaeda" like a good little indoctrinated sheeple.

Really? Explain to me what was highly sophisticated about the bombs. They had timers? That makes them highly sophisticated? This is the kind of thing Rense sheep like you announce as if saying it makes it so. People with actual functioning brains realise that a bomb with a timer doesn't take an elite team of Israeli agents. Its no different than people going around saying Tony Blair's government was in trouble, so he "needed" the bombing. That's sure news to people living in the UK, although true believers know it must be so because Rense said so, and obviously Rense knows UK politics better than anyone actually living there.
Funny how you feel you have enough information to conclude it was a conspiracy yet you are so pathetically uninformed you can't even get the number of bombs right. If was four, not five. Genius. And it wasn't five stations, three bombs exploded as the trains were in tunnels or just leaving the stations. One exloded on a bus. I'm sure you'll "LOL" and "*YAWN*" and then conclude that fucking up the facts completely only proves how correct you are.

Anyway, that is still a load of bollocks. Tell me what "tactical transport-infrastructure orchestration" would be required. Four people meet at Kings Cross, turn on their timers, board three trains and a bus, and leave bags behind on them. What is the "tactical transport-infrastructure orchestration" involved in that? Are you too fucking inept to catch a train and amazed by people who can?

Why do you keep mentioning Jeff Rense? Who said anything about Jeff Rense?

You criticize people in here for cutting and pasting articles from Rense.com, yet you can do nothing other than insult and deride, instead of presenting us with your supposedly superior sources? Where do YOU get YOUR news from, other than Matt Drudge and David Horowitz?

As far as the attacks, aside from being perfectly timed out and coordinated, the explosives used in the attacks have been determined to be of "military grade." I should also mention that the British government was counducting drills at the EXACT time of the explosions, involving the EXACT same scenario. THIS IS PART OF THE PUBLIC RECORD AND HAS BEEN REPORTED BY THE LONDON GUARDIAN!

It's kind of like the drills that were conducted on the morning of 9/11, simulating hijacked aircraft crashing into buildings, to be used as a cover for the real attacks.

You link to him all the time.
Insult and deride - you manage quite well in that department. As for Drudge and Horowitz, I never use either of them.

It is obvious that attacking conspiracy theories with facts is a waste of time. Conspiracy theorists claim all media is controlled by the Illuminati, then quote the Guardian (not the London Guardian, which doesn't exist) when it suits them under the premise that the story "slipped though" media control since it says what they want to hear. Therefore you quote the mainstream media whenever it suits you but if I do then it proves I'm brainwashed. Think I'll play that game? No.

What I try to do is point out logical fallacies, which permeate everything you post/copy/write. I guess the idea of thinking for yourself is so foreign that when I try using logic, you stand there confused, wondering where the links are. THERE IS NO LINK FOR COMMON SENSE.
Logic: does military explosives make the bombers sophisticated? No. It means they bought some good explosives. If you buy C4 with a timer, do you need to be a Mossad special operative to set it off? No. This is common sense, and you missed it completely.

Logic: what was perfectly timed and coordinated about the attack? Either they all set their watches together, or all set the timers together. Is synchronising watches a feat of incredible coordination which only elite military units would be capable of? No. That's why LickHerIsh creates complete bollocks like "tactical transport-infrastructure orchestration" to try to obfuscate the simple act of boarding trains into a mysterious feat which only the world most elite covert operatives could manage. "Tactical transport-infrastructure orchestration"? Give me a break.

Why do you gullibly repeat reasoning you hear on conspiracy websites when the logical errors are so painfully obvious?

    Supposition, innuendo and opinion

As far as the attacks, aside from being perfectly timed out and coordinated, the explosives used in the attacks have been determined to be of "military grade."

The bombs went off around the same time and it was planned to you this means it must have been a government operation, why? Are you saying that ordinary civilians cannot time things or plan anything.

We don’t actually know what type of explosives were used (although the type found so far is home made) but even if it is ‘military grade" are you then claiming that it must therefore be a secret government operation? Most terrorist organisations in the world have been able to get hold of military grade explosives (eg the IRA), it is available on the black market. Also you must remember that 350 tons of explosives went missing in Iraq from just ONE site, and that is probably not just being used by Iraqi insurgence but has been sold on.

As it is it looks like UK citizens killing people with home-made explosives. As has been shown in a recent court case the people putting the details of how to make such stuff is US survivalists and neo-nazis.

"the British government was counducting drills at the EXACT time of the explosions, involving the EXACT same scenario"

Is this about the private firm that had thought up a scenario to teach people about crisis management? If so when did it suddenly turn into a British government drill?

No Balbus, but coupled with the tell-tale conflicting press (claims of "homemade bombs", "suicide bombers" on the one hand and "high-grade military explosives" "sophisticated timed bombings, not 'suicide' bombings" on the other) and suggestion by other pundits that suddenly otherwise well known and popular youths with no predelection toward extremism or violent behaviour are suddenly compelled to commit mass murder?

Connect those media compartmentalised elements with some real effort to put the matter into a comprehensive context of current political/military aspirations at the European or more so the Global level. Those who are clearly benefitting hand over fist from it in budgetary and political terms are far more suspect than the stock in trade all too swiftly identified "masterminds" (a favorite media buzzword since 911). Some masterminds if they are so suddenly identified, but that logic seems to escape the non critical bandwagon brigade.

Anyone with any intellectual honesty and clear rational would see through this cacophony to the far more plausible suspects according to the most elementary questions of investigative scrutiny, means, motive and opportunity.

Means: military grade explosives and timers synchronised to within minutes one multiple routes (especially given the world reknown time delays on London rail transport). Who could control that to certain success better than those with an institutional remit in covert activities? None better than collusional intelligence services who often work in usinso where joint interests are at stake (the WoT being a clear gravy train for Anglo-American-Israeli intersts).

Motive: furtherance of a long awaited global threat paradigm lost to the Washington powermongers and their international partners when the Cold War was rendered obsolete with the fall of the USSR. The whole premise of the PNAC is predicated upon the need for a more nebulous and easily perpeuated "enemy" which can be pointed to with never a need for producing concrete transparent evidence against those paraded as culprits, thanks to the oft used caveat of "national security".

In this way, massive re-inflation of defence budgets and ever tighter domestic control mechanisms can be introduced to ensure the present system is able to repress eventual uprising when the growing disenfranchisement reaches critical mass. Getting the cheeple to bleat for the removal of their own once cherished civil liberties to protect them from the "bad guys" allows our leaders to advance the resurgence of tyranny step by step like the addage of the frog in the slowly heating pan of water. Like the frog, the sheep who scoff now will see the real danger has always been the system they are relying upon only when its too late for them to rise up against it.

Opportunity: One needn't resort to elaborate stretches of the imagination to realise that those in our most secretive institutions create opportunity for the furtherance of their objectives (whether through misinformation, physical insinuation of agents into strategic positions, or any number of operative measures).

Given the ranks of otherwise sociopathic individuals who carry out the dirtywork required to maintain the integrity of the present elite serving system, the perpetration of 911 or Madrid or London would cause no more loss of sleep than any other day's work. Average citizens, at this level of the game, are counted as nothing more than chattel to be culled, spun or ignored as the situation warrants.

If you are incapable of conceiving this, then you must think the advancement of global power and economic hegemony occurs by accident.

You have now made your post about ten times longer, yet added nothing.
So you have dropped "tactical transport-infrastructure orchestration" in favor of "institutional remits in covert activities" yet behind the pompous verbiage this is really the same nonsense.

What does military grade explosives have to do with anything? Both Balbus and I pointed this out, but you stick your fingers in your ears and repeat it.

Balbus and I have also asked what exactly it was about the timing that was beyond the capabilities of ordinary individuals. Again, you repeat the same assertion without explaining.

As I take the tube every day and pass through those stations, I can tell you the "world renowned" delays on London rail transport are primarily on commuter rail, not the underground. However, the point is moot. The bombs were set by time, not distance, so if four people board four trains at Kings Cross, each with a bomb set on a half hour timer or wearing a synchronised watch and told to set the bomb off at 9:00 exactly, well, not really James Bond is it? What exactly are you in awe of here? And what difference would it make if one train was delayed on part of its journey? The timers would still go off correctly, its not as if London transport is so bad that it alters the space time continuum. And furthermore, even the world's greatest Mossad super agent can't stop train delays, what sort of super train delay ending technology do you think Q built for him back at the lab in Tel Aviv? Are you ever going to explain what you mean or just repeat it?

The rest is, as Balbus said, supposition, innuendo and opinion. You could apply it unchanged to any event anywhere. Sure, you can angrily repeat it again (the 10,001st time can't be any worse) - that would sure be easier for you than explaining exactly what aspect of the "tactical transport-infrastructure orchestration by those with institutional remits in covert activities" was really more complicated than meeting a few mates at High Street Kensington for the early show of Kung Fu Hustle.

The only new thing you came up with was actually even dumber than the rest: "tell-tale conflicting press". Are you really this desperate? You couldn't get the story right days later yet you blame the press for getting it wrong in the few hours after the bombs went off, when it was completely chaotic?

You guys are missing one vital thing: 'they' don't *need* a conspiracy. Read Chomsky. The 'elites' don't have to have any explicit conspiracy to acheive the things you talk about (increasing defence budgets &c.) - they can do that through means that are well-documented and widely known.

Or is this just what the lizards want me to think?
