Bob Dylan, the man who made me love music, and the best dam songwriter to come from America. He has quite a large catalog, and it's hard for me to narrow my favorite album. But here goes Highway 61 Revisited Reasons, A.) It has a fine rock n roll edge to it, and proved rock n roll to be a really poetic style. b.) The song writing never falls short of genius. Opening with Like a Rolling Stone and ending with Desolation Row, the album is great throughout. c.) The music it'self Dylan's arrangements coupled with Al Kooper and Mike Bloomfield is rollicking.
my favourite dylan album is a broken one.... sorry, to be serious, Id have to say Bringin It All Back Home. no doubt.
Other than the Greatest Hits ones... I must say The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan such wonderful tracks as : Blowin' in the Wind, Girl of the North Country, Don't Think Twice, it's all right , and Bob Dylan's Dream... Wonderful album... but it is hard to pick a favorite.
I have heard a little bit of his stuff. My step dad has alot of bob dylan. I think I might listen to some. peace chickens
They're all so good, of coarse but I like either Blood On the Tracks or Desire the best! I also like his EARLY EARLY folk stuff some of the songs he sang back in '61 and '62 were some of the saddest songs I've ever heard. Barbara Allen, I Was Young WHen I Left Home, Rocks and Gravel. REEEEEAlly good stuff. By the way, he just got another honorary doctorate of music from St. Andrews? the oldest University in Scotland, the first doctorate being from Princeton, yes?
The Freewheelin' and Highway 61 Revisited. My math teacher has like EVERY Dylan recording and I get extra points in his class for knowing some of the more rare songs. Seriously, my math mark went up like 30 points from last year! I LOVE YOU GILLES!!!
My favourite is the Freewheelin... I Love "Don`t think twice". I need this song everytime I`m sad and everytime I`m happy. It`s like a drug. Bobby is the greatest!
I know I am supposed to say Bringin' It All Back Home or Highway 61 Revisited, but my very first "oh my God, Bob Dylan is a freakin' genius" moment was when I was otherworldly stoned and my friend put Infidels on the turntable. To this day, Jokerman makes every hair on my body stand straight up. This is powerful stuff.
i love all his albums, so i'll do a top-5: 1. blood on the tracks / john wesley harding (tie) 3. blonde on blonde 4. nashville skyline 5. desire bringing it all back home is overrated. It's my least favourite of all his sixties albums (though it has some great songs). John wesley harding is very underrated. I can't believe no one has mentioned this album yet.
