Why Are Guys Like This When A Woman Is Having Her Period?

Whenever I'm having my period my man refuses to have sex with me. He says it's disgusting. The silly part is that once the pain killers kick in (I have endometriosis and need those otherwise the cramping is so bad it makes me vomit) I'm usually REALLY horny. Am I weird or is he?

 

That's a personal choice but I just think that it is wrong. I guess if you have been with someone a really long time, you might do that. For me, tho, no thank you.

 

There's nothing wrong with it at all - it doesn't even get that messy! So i'd say he's the one being wierd!!

But you have to respect his wishes, you wouldn't like it if he was trying to get you to do something you didn't want to...

 

Just a sugestion: How about doing in it in the water? Like the sea, a pool, a jacussi , a bathtub. No mess there!! i think...

 

For me, I am the one who is hesitant about it. He on the other hand is very willing to and couldn't care less. So if I am very horny during my period, he is usually happier than ever to oblige.

It's never been something I had a problem with, and as far as I know none of my friends have an issue with it, either.

 

I have heard that your period "stops" whenever you get into the water....so why not try it there? It would be fun. Pretend you're a mermaid.

I'd say he's the one that's weird. If you're worried about the mess, just throw a couple of towels down on the bed -- once you get excited you won't bleed much at all. I could understand if his reasoning was because of the cramps & whatnot, if you wanted to just lie there while he humps you, since the men I've dated always got turned off if the woman didn't seem into it, but that's a whole other story. If you're raring to go, the only reason not to is his own insecurities & issues... Which, as was stated above, you can't force him to do something he doesn't want to, the best case scenario is that in time he will become more comfortable with you & your body. Just out of curiosity, when you are not on your period, how willing is he to eat you out? The few boys I've known who were freaked out by blood were also unwilling to deal with other bodily fluids (female cum) as well, which is why I ask...

 

It's totally a personal thing. As a guy it doesn't really bother me. A former girlfriend, who normally liked a lot of sex, would completely shut down while she had a period (she'd still be willing to perform oral, though!). She had heavy cramping and a lot of flow. Now many years later my wife seems particularly horny at that time of the month, and likes to have lots of sex. Then again she makes very little mess...

It is also worth mentioning that orgasms seem to make PMS cramps feel better. Both of my long-term partners reported that.

first, don't have sex underwater. it will pump water into your uterus and could easily cause infection..come one guys this should be common knowledge....

second,(this mainly applies to acid_rain) if your really turned off for the first half and are uncomfortable about sex to a point where you won't have it, you can't expect him to compromise what he's uncomfortable with and have sex with you because your horny...that is a serious double standard.

 

sex on the period... super naieve here, but i must say the possibility didn't even occur to me. i've always just said "hey, i'm on my period... eeew" and he's undrestood. so, how does this work? it's actually NOT that messy? i guess it'd be especially clean what with the regular use of tampons... though i guess you'd have to remember to remove that eh? heh heh.

It's not usually that messy, depending on how heavily you menstruate... I guess it could be in some cases. By all reports it definitely feels VERY good and helps fend off cramps. So, if you're horny and able to deal with a little mess (just lay down a towel) go for it!

 

Yep, I guess its a reaccuring thing for women to be hornier when menstruating because I'm there right now. I do have a question though, is it normal for sex to hurt when ovulating or is it just me?

I tried it once though. Wasn't messy at all (hse wasn't on her 'heavy' days), but the smell stuck on me (one place in particular!) for days and that kindda grossed me out (I like being clean and smelling nice from head to toes all the time).

If you have a condom on though, that might just solve that little problem.

And I don't think either of you is weird for wanting it or not. You feel horny as hell, and I can understand that very much!!! He is grossed out? Well, he might very valid have personnal reasons. On the other hand, as a couple, you can talk about it and try to see why he doesn't want to. He might be more inclined to try it, at least once, just to try, under the shower as the mess and odor are less of an issue there.

taking birth control pills really lessens the menstrual flow to where there is almost none, as i have found out with my ex(in happier times of course)
