Hi, Are there any kind and responsible folks out there who are serious about living communally. It has been quite a while since i spent any time at this site. Last time we tried to get a group of communal-minded people together, it was a lost cause. We are very serious and committed to living communally where we are and eventually creating a larger village/community. Presently we have 6 acres of woods, a fine house in the middle of construction projects, a great garden, great pets, a hot tub, a sweat lodge, a beautiful stream, and thousands of acres of woods to wander in. Eventually, we will buy a few hundred acres in the Va-WV border area for a larger community farm, and we also intend to buy a beautiful area in Costa Rica for another communal home. We intend to cellibrate life and not just live as endentured servants to the land. We have no intention of founding an impoverished community, instead, we are working to make sure that we can start very well funded. Through a network of friends and family, we will have safe havens all over the world. We are patient, realistic dreamers who are willing to work hard to make or dreams a reality. We need to find kindred spirits. We do not need any more "hippie" vampires who just use resources without contributing! If you want to live for free, you are not mature enough for us to bother with. Get real! The only way to escape the rat race is through cooperative work. Use all the tools at your disposal and turn the whole mess upside down! I am a 41 year old scientist shamanic hippie radical, and my partener is a 23 yo beautiful bisexual artist witch. We are poly and hope to find others who will share EVERYTHING with us, but we also need to find friends who have similar goals yet do not want to become a part of our intimate family. If you are willing to really work for your dreams, then we would love to get to know you and explore how our paths might coincide. Most of the people who have come to share our home just abused our hospatality. There must be some real communal-minded people out there rather than all the loosers just looking for a free ride and the next high. we do not require anything of people other than kindness, respect, and honesty. If you think pills and white powders are OK, then please do not bother us. If you hold love above all else and have interest in love based spiritual community, then please write us today. We are very serious! I also have no intention of being king! I have planned to buy the land and build some original structures, but we will deed everything to a community LLC where we will be equal with all other vested members. We would love to host or attend a meeting of communal-minded people any time. I have been very serious about this my entire life, and we will continue to work toward the establishment of a happy, cooperative community. I have worked out a lot of the details about how the power structure of such a community can be harmoniously laid out, and i have some proposals of how income sharing, etc. will work. Heya Jim, I answered before and wished you luck We are involved in much the same up here in the finger lakes of NY - have 175 a. at present but hope to be able to buy control of the watershed so that we can be truly organic without worrying as much about what our neighbors are using - Probably more like minded than not - though the only way to tell is to spend some quality time together. Kind of strapped down to a job to manifest this with the attending need for the green energy. Would love to find a different way - best i can do in this area is about $2500/mo. for 4-5 hrs average per night driving in the country sharing space with the deer and the moon, delivering papers. Finding a substitute to take over so I can travel is difficult, and hard top come by - so I cannot plan any treveling soon myself. Not exactly what I plan to continue, but we all need to make the best of what is. We have open house around solstice and equinox trying to fit a weekend during that time around full moon and are open to visitors at other times with advance notice to make sure we can keep some time open for visiting along with the work in the hollow. Have a personal forum called Waysharing on this site that gives a feel for who and what we are doing. Hi oldwolf, i definitely remeber you from when i used to spend more time here. i have read a lot of what you posted and have always had the utmost respect for you and what you are putting together. We would love to visit sometime. this summer has been too hectic for travel, we have not even made it to any of the gatherings we normaly attend. I expect to be traveling north on business before too long. If i can work out a trip further north to your area, i will contact you as soon as i know my schedule. Of course, if you are able to travel and find yourself down this way, we would love for you to drop in on us. It is hard to balance working for money and working to create a functional home. I am trying a front-loaded approach. I hope to make all the money we will ever need in the first four or five years. I started the first nanotechnology startup in NC. I guess i am a strange mix of high-tech professional and earth magician. Reality demands that we make interesting compromises to thrive in Babylon. Peace and Love! Jim
