my head is so itchy :( I don't know what to do! I know tea tree oil works, but there isn't any at ANY of the headshops or herbal stores around here. Is there some other kind of oil essence that will help? Or other remedies? I'm tearing apart my scalp as we speak!!!

    *cries*

Can you get any rosemary fresh or dried from anywhere? Steep it in hot water, strain and add cold to cool if you need, then pour over your head. Always works for me.
    Good luck!

Yeah, dude, the rosemary tea works WONDERS. Put it in a spray bottle and keep it in the fridge in case any itchies creep up, it's an instant treatment.

no tea tree oil anywhere!!!!! bummer.... i swear by that shit alllllllllll the time. its like my cure all for everything. but rosemary should be a good alternative to tea tree. but really look at all natural food markets and such or i would think in a grocery store... cuz i know at my shaws even or is it hannaford, in the all natural food department there is all natural care stuff and they got a bunch of tea tree oil.
good luck, hope the itchies go away soon :)

I couldn't go anywhere yesterday so I'm still scratching...

is there any harm in all the dandruff that I seem to be getting from scratching? Will it stay in the dreads in hinder thier maturity?

i get that on my scalp too, even when im washing my hair every 2 days, its not a lot, and it never flakes off like dandruff, it seems kind of like a build up on my scalp. but my head never itches so maybe its not, who knows.

If everything fails you should try normal baby shampoo. It's not as oily as regular shampoo so you don't have to worry about your dreads falling apart so much and it gets rid of the grease build up around the roots which causes the itches
