are complete fucking jack offs. I went into one place, to talk to a guy about pricing a tattoo in cursive, saying "Feed Your Head..." on the back of my neck, and he literally got sour faced when i said it. And said "uhhh...feed your head?? ummmm Oooookay " A couple weeks later i went into another place, where i've always gone to get my piercings and my first tattoo, and gave a picture along with my ideas of what i wanted, they were pretty much laughing at my idea the whole time, (which by the way, is an amazing idea for a tattoo) and when the tattoo guy left for a bit, and i waited, when he came back he rolled his eyes at me and said "ooh geez, still on about this one eh?" After taking my ideas and writting down what i wanted, i was told they would call or email a design within a week- it's been over 2 months since, and i havent heard from them I don't understand....shouldn't tattoo artists, of all people, try from the get-go to develop a very positive relationship with their clientel? Is anyone on here a tattoo artist? Has anyone else noticed a lot of them come off as assholes? Luckily i've found a really nice guy not far from here who i plan on going to for my next one.
Sorry to hear they were such jerks to you. I've def met my share of tat artists that just dont give a fuck about anything and they are def not the ones to go to. I think the more they seem to care about taking time for you, the more they will care about taking time for your tat. Like the other day when I went to get a new piercing, I went to this totally new place to do it because I wanted to check out the artists' work for my new tatoo and all I did was mention to one of the guys that I was thinking about doing a cover up and he asked to see my tat and then brought me back to his studio and spent time drawing up some quick ideas....and they were busy that day too. So I think when they're good to you like that it's a good sign for things to come. I like your idea for your tat lucy...what color are you planning to do it in?
it might have been the fact that you wanted it on your neck, a lot of them discourage neck tattoos - and yeah, they sometimes don't come right out and say it, they'll just send ya off without it and see if you still come back. i flat out tell my husband's customers "no" unless they already have visible tattoos on their hands/necks/forheads whatever... if they are persistant i tell them if they still want it in a year, come back then. and then again it might have been that you wanted something for nothing. basically, wanting them to spend their time drawing designs for free. if you want an artist to draw for you, usually there is an additional cost involved. and then again, maybe they are just assholes. i know my sweet hubby comes off as an asshole quite often... lol!!! he has quite a large following anyways, sometimes i think his clients like the fact that he's straight with them about what he thinks - they value his opinions, and he sure does have quite a few! i still love him, asshole or no
they really shouldn't do that, it's bad business... besides, irrigardless of how lame they think an idea is, you're still paying for it, there should be no reason why they treat you this way!
Ya go someware eles and allso tell people how you were treated.Doesnt matter wat you whant,a artist should approch evry client with an open mind and not say oooooooooookkkkkkkk ,well if you want it.if i was put down for wanting a phrase as biutifull as "feed your head"on my neck i would protest the shit out of that shop.Us hippys are allready made inferrior in this country and to have someone from an open minded profession roll there eyes or make fuin of one of us is fucking sick.that artist should get a job at wall mart or somethin. as far as a shop refuseing to put ink in a certian spot just becouse they dont have anny other ink vissable is a discrase to the profeshon.tattoos and other art is an exspreshon of freedom.let that person be who they are and fullfill their request as a costomer.shit man its not like treir not gettin paid for it.live and let live man. sunshine to all my brothers and sisters frog
Lucy, I see you're from Michigan. I know some hip cats around the Detroit/Toledo area that have really good vibes. PM me and I'll see if I can help you out. Oh yeah, btw, I never got talked out of getting my neck tattoo...they were more than willing to do it....
most of the tattoo artists here and everywhere I have been think they have rock star status. they also think they are the only ones who know what will look good on your skin. The tatt I got on my right arm, I mixed the colors myself and my artist told me I did a great job picking them. He wanted to go dark purple but I woldnt let him. I havent gotten any ink lately but the next time I do I am going to my friend Chop, going to his shop is like going to a family reunion it isnt like walking in on judgement day LOL
haha HOW STUPID! why do they care wut U want on yer body? besides, i think yer tattoo idea is radical. they're lame! wel wen i got my tattoo they said it was a cool and unique idea but i mean i dont reely care what they have 2 say bout it haha. show yer tat wen yer done!!!
yeah thats bullcrap...where do u live exactly? i may be abl;e to hook you up with an awesome tattoo artist.
My tat-man was fucking hot as hell Oh, and he did a good job too If ya live in San Antonio I can hook ya up!
