I am going out of town for a few days and even though I don't like it I have to leave my cat alone.... What should I leave for him to help him through this....

I've left my cat alone for a weekend with 2-3 bowls of food, and several bowls of water. I have housemates that can come down and look in on her if need be...but, she has been fine with that. When I've come home, she is really lovey-dovey, she's been lonely, but not lacking for food or water.

So I shouldn't feel that bad then... I was thinking of leaving the two tvs on in the house for him.

You could do that, I guess, if you feel that would help...you know best what your cat would benefit from...it might be a good idea, from my experience, at least, to have a friend come in and check up on him to make sure he didn't spill the food bowls or anything...

I hated leaving my cat too...made me nervous, and I've never done it for more than 2 days, but she was OK...just lonely for me, I think...

extra food, water and litter....maybe some toys like those little plastic balls with the bells inside, to keep her entertained should she feel like entertaining herself
I leave the tv on for my animals as well when im gone....(animal planet no less)[IMG] and yeah, if you've got someone who could stop and check in on her, that'd be good too. have fun wherever your going~

t.v.s let out a high frequency signal that can damage animals ears, so i wouldnt leave it on all the time, they need a little break from it.

Well I was gone for six days more then I had expected and he was fine just in need of some love. There was plently of food, water, litter, toys and the tvs were on but he had places to retreat incase he wanted it.
