meh, i dont need a bunch of millionaire celebrities telling me to help with poverty...seeing that brings up an automatic finger to the tv screen...besides, i check out the site long ago when their pop-ups infested on AIM...theyre not looking for your voice or your ideas on poverty, they want you to sign some petition or some shit. its a sham to get people concerned about the world, but not questioning the real problems that create poverty in the first place...like money in general... take away the money you take away the poverty. so fuck off, brad pitt.
IT IS NEVER A SHAME IF IT GETS PEOPLE CONCERNED ABOUT POVERTY. lend your voice it cant hurt. and alot of thoughs celebs give alot of time and money to these things.
Its small steps like signing a petition, that brings change to the world, who knows, it might work, it might not, but its a damn good attempt.
hahahaha okay okay. i dont know what star trek stuff you are talking about but, what i meant was, i recently came to the realization (i think ive posted this crap in a few other threads) money, a once useful tool, has now become more of a burden on our society and yes, now that earth is more of an established world we should move toward getting rid of it after fixing other current problems. you may think at first this is a bad idea, but, if you trace most forms of crime, and other negativity like poverty, you will see that these are products of a currency system. im picturing a collective market that is free, close to capitalism, but without the service-middle-man that is money. everyone inputs, everyone outputs, private property and possesions still exist so no forced sharing all to the state commie garbage. there would be no robbery, very little theivery, no poverty, no credit cards, no house payments, no mortgage or any of this stress-producing junk. i think this would be a huge step toward a utopia...and we are trying to make one here on earth, right? "some ridiculous notion" haha you dont have to get pissed about it or anything hope this clears it up
your own drive to create something to keep society flowing so that you can have everything and everyone else can have everything, as opposed to money that divides everyone for themselves, spawning forms of poverty and crime, where as with a collective market you can have all thats available to you and instead we are all working together to push our civilization forward or some junk personally i would much rather do it this way things would be of a lot more quality and unique
as for difficult labor like mining for coal or some crap im sure we can build simple machines to do it, like an assembly line
there are all kind of weird people in this world. you could find someone who actually enjoys doing difficult labor if you couldn't find a machine to do it.
My job requires a lot of mental stress, so I find that doing simple, hard, physical labour to be a relief. It tires me out and relaxes me.
awesome, see everyone could do what they wanted, you could switch professions at anytime to match your interests, and you'd have all the time in your life to do so.

haha exactly because they still had money and the entire world wasnt on board and, most importantly, it "worked well" because they had a State. go look in the globalization thread for more on this.
good point. but, put simply because i have to go to work now, i would consider the concept of government and the vaule of money ideals so i see it the other way around
