New Orleans is dirty, nasty, smells like a mix of heat ferminted shit vomit and is crowded with tourists. Not mention expensive to live in the "good" part, if there is one. BUT the French Quarter is beautifully cultural. Its a great place for a day trip. The idea of living there is a romantic one. I love visiting, see the shops, galleries, and multitude of different people. jackson square is an artist mecca, and there is always music playing in the streets. Then there are the stumbling drunks and idiotic frat college tourists. They are fun! lol You dont want to get caught in new orleans in a hurricane, the place is a bowl, a bowl under sea level. Last year the had a near miss of a hurricane, but had it hit, there would have been 30 feet of water flooding the city, with hordes of floating balls of fire ants, mixed with chemical leakage. Pretty huh. I would never live in new orleans. I will visit often. Louisiana as a state is very diverse, there is more to it than New Orleans. Depends on where you want to live in the state. The roads are shit, and the cops are prickish (more so than elsewhere). I hope i painted a beautiful picture for you =)
oh i know, GODDAMN THAT MICHA!! ugh!! what the hell is wrong with her????!?! she doesnt get your points, she asks questions, who does she think she is?? SHE JUST DOESNT TAKE THIS WHOLE INTERNET CONVERSATION SERIOUSLY ENOUGH! THIS IS IMPORTANT!! dont worry dude-bro, i feel ya.
It would be hillarous if "Grub" was George or Shelly or someone in diguise just arguing with us for fun. That is something I would do.
New Orleans is the site of my favorite comedy novel. Props if you can name it. (I believe there's a statue of the main charicter somewhere there, though I've never been)
looks good... A hobo would kill for that. Of course, most hobos would kill for a dime and some silly putty.
I pretty much agree with Heron, New Orleans is a cool place to visit, but I'd not want to live there.
