Okay, so I went to public highschool for 2 years and did REALLY bad. I had behavior problems, anxiety problems, etc etc and barely passed any of my classes in that period of time. After dropping out, I enrolled in a four year homeschool program, James Madison PCDI.com. Only 1.5 credits transferred over. One literature credit, One computer programming credit. Now, looking back I wish I never transferred these credits. Since I signed up for the four year program, I ended up paying for the whole four years, which means I could have earned those credits at my homeschool without paying more. The reason I wish I didn't transfer the credits is because when applying to a college, they will want the transcripts of ALL highschools attended, correct? Does this include the public highschool I went to , even though I only transferred over 1.5 credits? If I talk to the homeschool and ask them to negate those credits and let me take them over, do you think they will let me do this? Will this mean I don't have to transfer over my public highschool transcript? I just dont want to effect my GPA. For public higschool is was 1.1, and now it's 3.5.
I wouldn't worry too much about how it affects your gpa. A LOT of people screw up in their first year or two of high school. Most schools are more interested in your record from the last two years. Also, a lot of schools ask for an essay, which is your chance to sell yourself, as well as to explain any problems you may have had. Not knowing how this program is set up, the main problem I can see an admissions board having due to seeing both transcripts is questioning whether you will be able to handle the structured classroom setting you'll find on most campuses. I assume that you'll be applying to schools that fit your needs -- like if you need focused attention of a teacher, you wouldn't go to a school where you are in 100-500 person lectures for the first 2 years, for example. But, that might be something to bring up in your essay -- whether you've been treated for the behavior & anxiety problems, what didn't work at the first high school compared to what did work in the program you're in, and why you think the set-up of the schools you're applying to will work for you.
