When I was in junior high, all of Lurlene McDaniel's books made me cry, especially the ones in which a guy died. I don't know why I was partial to the males, but I spent a lot of time bawling over those books. In high school, I don't really recall crying at a book, though. Although I very possibly could have, I'll have to get back to you on that one. Although Music In The Night by VC Andrews is quite sad. And A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is a very touching book, too.
In college I had a great literature professor and we took a class on le Morte D'Arthur which is where I learned the message of the "Ubi Sunt" motif, or the passing away of great things. It was a very beautiful class and I actually wept at times. Prior to that I remember that as a boy I read all the Castaneda books over a two week period and I was so immersed in that world that when I ran out I seriously jonesed and was very depressed. I may have cried. I guess also there was Demian and Beneath the Wheel by Hesse.
I cried when at "The mansard of the dreams" from Remark.Great book...If the heroes in this book really exists, the world will be a little better.
that book definetly...and im not sure what other books have made me cry. not a lot of movies have either.....only Braveheart that i can remember.and Blow.
hm... where the red fern grows, the green mile, and the pact are 3 that i can remember off the top of my head... i'm sure there are more. oh, nicholas sparks books always make me cry.
Where the Red Fern Grows. And I do get that kind of sinking feeling at the end of the book. I think I'm too attached to reading.
