After a particularly painful dental appointment yesterday morning, I skulked off up the high street (aptly named coincedentally) thinking of my little jar of codiene waiting for me at home. As I crossed the road in front of the opticians, I looked up to a truly awsome sight! Along side the opticians wall about 30 opium poppy plants were happily growing away! Every one had flowered and were now in pod stage. There were hundreds of pods! So as soon as it was dark last night i got my bloke to drive me there, equiped with a scissors and bin liner. It goes with out saying that there are no longer any poppies outside the opticians. What a stroke of luck though!

Well i guess if you are caught making tea from them or what ever, you could get done for possession of a class A drug. But i dont think it is illegal to pick them. Its legal to grow them in the UK, so making it an offence to pick them would be a bit rediculous, dont you think. Notice i got them under cover of darkness though! I didn't want to be caught and have to find out!
