As some of you make already be aware, as of 18th July 2005, it will be illegal to sell or buy fresh shrooms in the UK. They're putting them right up there as class A with smack and crack. I think this is unjust and just shouldn't be. I don't think there is any reason why they should do this.

    Opinions?

It's most certainly unjust, although I'm not surprised. But do you know if grow boxes and spores will still stay legal?

Dunno about grow kits or spores but I know some of us will find dealers, who will no doubt take advantage and charge stupid prices.

It's horribly wrong to make any living organism "illegal." Naturally I believe all drugs should be legal (although there are things that I think people should never touch regardless, like cocaine/methamphetamine/heroin, etc). The point is, it should be up to someone to decide on their own what they do with their own body. The government should have no say what I do with myself. I'm pretty sure I'm preaching to the choir here.

What the British government has only succeeded in creating a black market for mushrooms, and creating a demand. The same is true with any country that makes anything illegal.

NO! They cannot do that on my birthday of all days! I don't live in the UK but it's destroying my birth date.

There is a simple solution to this, if it is at all possible, LEARN TO GROW THEM!! Whilst pre-colonised growkits are included in the ban, general consensus seems to suggest that spores will not be included, and syringes and substrate will remain legal and available

My company supplies lots of these products to UK...or will until 18th. That ban is affecting my bread and butter...among other things. Argh.

    Think UK ban is ridiculous.

Growing them is a viable option. I can occassionally offer advice if needed.

    Happy, hippy, day!!!

    Viva la revolution!

Well, it's giving the people something they like and then taking it away from them. No-one's life is gonna be terrible but it is an inconvenience, seeing as how they were so easily available.
Not all of us have grown shrooms before, owing to the fact that we haven't needed to. So people like me will need an easy step-by-step guide to growing.

It is a terrible inconvenience, and putting them on the same level as smack and crack is absolutely ludacris. Have you ever met a mushroom addict? Anyone whose life has been ruined by the "evil fungus"? I'm doing them with a load of my mates tonight, they bought a shitload in bulk so the can dry them for the drought.

It's the day before the big ban, kind of a sad day,not for the point of illegality, that's not stopped people from doing loads of other things, it's the fact that this drug is natural and harmless but still the government insists on making choices for us again. It's not dangerous to be legal but it seems like a massive power trip on the part of Blair and his counterparts. I don't know about you guys but I'll certainly have some interesting stories about where I was the night before mushrooms were banned in the UK,keep shroomin!
