So i'm heading to Australia this fall for awhile, but I'd really like to go to NZ as well. So I was hoping someone here could help me out, I'm looking for a good hike while i'm there. Something that'd take about a week or so. Anything would be helpful. Thanks a lot.

Alright, so this North West Circuit on Stewart Island looks pretty cool. Anybody done it?

nope, but you pretty much can't go wrong with any hike here.
the only one i've really done that was more that a night was the Heaphy- it's four nights and the most beautiful scenery - every day is different it is absolutley stunning. And the abel Tasman area and the routeburn are all highly esteemed by most trampers.

ya, it looks like there's a lot of great hikes around there. perhaps i'll stay there for longer than i thought. I sure like that there's such a good system with the huts and what not and that i won't have to worry about any bears.

Just got back from NZ... enjoy yourself man - it's a wonderful country! Unfortunately, I didn't get down to Stewart island due to time contraints. If it's hiking your up for, make sure you check out the Abel Tasman.

Also, look out for any american pricks... they seem to pop up everywhere :)
Ah...my fellow countrymen do embarass me.
