So I have no experience tie dying and I would like to learn. I love this shirt attached and was just wondering how would one go about dying a shirt like this? Would it be hard?

I don't think it'd be too hard. That looks like dip-dying more than anything else. Fold it in half longwise and dip a little bit in to do the middle, tha unfold it and do the sides.

Direct app: get a fat sponge brush: wood handle, grey foam, you know the kind.
Soak the shirt in a soda ash solution for at least three hours.
    pull and wring out.
accordian fold the shirt LOOSELY, since you want solid color. (remember folding fans in school? that fold) Loosely rubber band it again, because you don't want a resist. on a work surface covered with newspaper, "paint" the dye down the stripe. go in your color order: be careful of bleeding. Flip the shirt and repeat, making sure the same color is going over the original
OR fold and bind a bit tighter and use black on the back, which will show through as the colors blend in the center.
    Make sense?
Soda ash ratio is 1 C per 5 gal H2O.
Soda ash is sold as washing soda under the arm and hammer name, or at pool supply syores.
