I'm thinking about purchasing a grow box after reading the extraordinary amounts that it claims to produce within weeks. I know that the stems are a somewhat bulky part of the mushroom and I'm wondering if they can be consumed as well. I've never heard of eating the stems, but then again I've never heard against eating them either. So can they be eaten to produce the same effects? If so, does anyone know the psilocybin/psilocin content ratios between the stems and caps?
    Thanks

Ok, thanks. In that case I guess a grow box would definately prove worthy.

dude the stems give you most of the high feeling and some visuals but the caps have more visuals. they basicly have the same amount but you will have more visuals if you eat more caps

No reliable difference in psilocybin and psilocin distribution between caps and stems in mushrooms can be demonstrated. Stems and caps are the same thing as far as potency and effects are concerned.

Anybody who claims to have seen a difference between the two is incorrectly extrapolating from their own personal experiences affected by individual set and setting.

maybe its just me, but out of the hundreds of times I've eaten mushrooms, I've always found the stems to be more potent. there's probably no science behind it at all and more than likely all in my head.

the whole damn mushroom should be eaten, stem, cap, and all.

and caps don't give you more visuals.

I hate to bring this off-topic, but I have to ask, What do you mean by grow box? I haven't grown shrooms myself yet, but I plan on it this summer, and I have read up about it on shroomery.org and what I've read, it is a cheap, but long process to grow. I read it you need to make a cake and inject it with the spores, and it takes 2-4 weeks to colonize, and then it will be producing one to two mushrooms every two to four weeks until theres no more nutrients left in the cake.

You're pretty much correct, except that it produces one to two OUNCES of mushrooms every two weeks or so... Just a little difference. :p

And if you are lazy like me, you should go with a grow box instead of spores; it comes with a box filled with premium substrate and spores so you can just inject 'em and you're done; no making cakes or anything.
