When I see a post like that I think ...She's sixteen,somebody probably did something shitty to her and she could use some support until she gets her groove back.

That might be a little condescending,but I mean well.

 

Ive found that men generally seem that way because theyre more physically-minded(im talking in general here.) Theyre mostly firmly on the earth, and probably a lot more practical.

And so theyll think about their job on this earth, reproduction, exercise...and quite right too.

What us women need to do is be more understanding of this, and maybe a bit more forgiving...theyre only human, after all.

Although there are two things to keep in mind here when making generalized statements about gender. First, gender roles are socially created (for better or for worse). Second, it is difficult to understand and critique the factors that create these ideas when we are using the lens created by those same social factors. What I am trying to say is that when you strip away what is socially created, I am not sure we are left with much in the way of certainty about what men and women are inherently like.

The interesting thing about the S.C.U.M manifesto and other feminist screeds from this era is that a LOT of their stated aims have been achieved or are being achieved.

True, gender roles ARE socially created. What i was talking about was the result of this creation. Im only talking from my limited experience with a small group of men, but from what ive seen they all go along with this stereotype because they think its what they should be. And so they actually become it...But youre absolutely right...i think take all that away, and men and women have no differences at all...other than the obvious
