It is ironic that he died while The Longest Yard was being shown in the movie theaters. Eddie Albert played the warden in the original movie.

I have no idea what that means. Was it good or bad? Did you like it or not?

He was 99, so he was 60 when he started doing Green Acres. I didn't realize he was that old.

The cast on Green Acres was unlike any other show. There was no end to the gang of screwball characters on that show. Haney and Kimball were great. :)

CBS was a dynasty in the 60s. They had a whole group of rustic country humor shows like Green Acres, Petticoat Junction, and Beverly Hillbillies. People used to say that CBS stood for 'Country Bumpkin Station." :)

Shame. At least he lived a nice, long life, so that's good. Wow, 99. I hope I live that long.

Some of us remember the "Witch Mountain" movies. He showed us his Hippy side in that.

Does anyone remember his role as a benevolent U.S. president in a movie called "Dreamscape"? Great trippin' movie. He was also a USMC officer in WW2,involved in the island hopping campaign(real life) but was by no means a right winger.JK
