    The land doesn't matter.

    It's the people. :(

It's all hippies turned fascists in my darling little community. Good stories, though. Reston... pfft.

i heard that virginians smell a bit... off... something to do with the lobsters apparently.
all I ask is for someone to dispel this unusual claim, please do not be offended.

I'm also from VA. I live in a really, really tiny town that probably no one has heard of. It's near Staunton. I know the area I live in is definitely NOT boring.

I really like it out west around Staunton. I think my favorite place in Virginia is Humpback Rocks... I think that's what it's called... you climb all the way on top of this mountain/hill thing and there's big rocks at the top where people sunbathe.... I love that view. My dad is from around Marion. He lived about a half a mile from Mt.Rogers... my great uncle lives there now. My family on my dad's side is pretty much all from Chilhowie, Virginia...

Last weekend I went to Virginia for a Bluegrass convention (in Buena Vista), and I will be heading back to Virginia in August for another convention in Galax. I love the scenery.

Damn... I live in Virginia and have never even been to a bluegrass festival. Well.... one time I did a re-enactment thing with a bluegrass band.

    Ryvre, where do you live!!!!!!

I lived in Millboro almost my entire life, I am now living in Lexington. I'm in Staunton all the time. I love Staunton actually, very artistic and culture for a smallish town. Downtown Staunton is the best place in the US, I'm nearly convinced! The wharf!!

After I travel, maybe I'll live in Staunton. Who knows, if it stays like it is now I'd love it, and really, it seems to just be getting better!

Hey, did you see that scary tattoo place though, near those iron statue things going out of town near towards the road to Brownsburg? Haha.. they needed a sign saying "HIV included at no extra charge". I was sad when they made it back into a AUTO SHOP.

PM or something maybe we can hang out sometime.

Wow, Buena Vista.. 10 minutes away!

Do you mean the fiddlers Convention? I didn't make it to it, working all the fucking time.

So many so close. Why don't we all go hang out sometime or something, before I go off to Connecticut or something.

    And about finding it boring.

I do not find Virginia boring at all. There are negatives about it, for sure. Plenty, in fact. But it's not boring, there are boring small towns, but only boring in the sense of closed minds and lack of things to do as far as shops and stuff. Those towns make up for it with nature. There are not boring places, only boring people who populate them. Really, if you find it boring get your license or something. Virginia has sooooooo many awesome places. Charlottesville, Staunton, Floyd, Lexington. Those are the only places I routinely go to, and I love them. And VA is HUGE. So much more to see and do.

I'd like to go on the appalachian trail from the NC border all the way up to the north. That would be something interesting as far as something to do. My dad used to walk the whole trail in VA back when he worked with the forestry department. Him and another guy who also worked with him at the guitar shop used to clear it and spend nights in the shelters. You know, I love the mountains, but i'd rather be at a beach. I can't stand the beaches in VA. Even Virginia Beach. It's too miami-like to me.... and the rules are strict. Although, all of the clothes are like.... 5 shirts for 10 dollars... That's the thing about virginia that I don't like much. The people's views.
