I'm going to France this vacation ,and I'm taking my guitar with me but I need song songs to play(I don't know any ) some song that most people know so they can sing along can somebody help me?
Hi! Are you looking for french songs? If so it depends of the style you want to play but in the great classics of songs-sung-around-the-fire, I would say : Renaud - Mistral Gagnant Edith Piaf - L'hymne à l'Amour Serge Gainsbourg - La javanaise Maxime Le Forestier - San Francisco Indochine - L'Aventurier Tonton David - Chacun sa route George Brassens - les copains d'abord Alain Souchon - Foule sentimentale Laurent Voulzy - Belle-île-en-mer Daniel Balavoine - Tout les cris, les SOS But there is much much more...
If you are looking for songs that are simple to play, and easy to sing along with, here's my top 5: 1. Bad Bad Leroy Brown 2. Margarita Ville 3. Knock'n on Heaven's Door 4. House of the Rising Sun 5. Proud Mary Mix these standards with a few new songs, and your on your way.
Accoustic or electric? most people can recognize Bob Dylan, Stones and Beatles tunes. And there are easy songs out there to play. Stone Temple Pilots - Big Empty (4 or 5 chords) America - Tin man - (4 chords) Collective Soul - December (4 chords) Led Zeppelin - Going to California (4 chords) Pearl Jam - Lightning Crashes (3 chords) Stones - Sympathy for the Devil (4 chords) Stones - Miss You (4 or 5 chords) Soul Asylum - Runaway train (4? chords) .....and what others are suggesting. Need tab or chords to these songs PM me , I'll get 'em to you. good luck
It's not popular in the "well-known" meaning of "popular", it is said "popular" because most people know about the first 10 words of the song but you have to go to a bar with not-so-friendly alcoholics or to a local fair to find someone knowing the whole song. (usually they are above 60yo) Anyway, Shinta, most french people don't know anything but french songs. I have been on holiday in France each year for 15 years, and it's a real problem... Or you'll have to write them down the lyrics! Actually, they are most likely to ask you "Diiis, c'est biiien trop compliqué ta chanson là, tu ne connaitrais pas *french song* par hasaaard?" ("heey, your song is wayy too difficult, don't you know *french song* by any chaaance?")

Learn some Bob Dylan songs to the likes of Blowing in the wind, Like A Rolling Stone, Mr Tambourine Man.
well beatles would be an obvious choice for songs of ease... day tripper, lucy in the sky with diamonds, yellow submarine; misfits are easy as cake too, i always find it fun to take a heavy song and play it on acoustic....
umm easy songs, Marigold by Nirvana is very easy, Well i only know the bass part but its pretty much the same i guess.
I'm afraid the only other french songs I know are 'Le tete, les epaules....' and 'il est né le divine enfant', neither of which are going to get you very far. Oh I suppose there's the tried and tested, 'Les enfants de la patrie, le jour de gloire est arrivé....' :X
