This is one of my favorite bands! "Layla and other assorted love songs" is my favorite album. This is a story of a man in a band, obsessing his best friends (george harrison) wife Patie something. Every song EC wrote was for her about her secretly. Then you have the band 2 members would die (Duane in a motorcycle wreck, and Carl Radle from an overdose in 1980) All of them had drug problems, and one would go insain and kill his mother (Jim Gordon drums) also a girl who is on the back of the album resting her head on her hands killed herself in 1980 because she heard news that Carl Radle overdosed. No wonder Clapton went crazy in the 1970's and had a drinking problem. Its said Jim Gordon has a list of people to kill when he gets out featuring the remaining members of Derek and the dominos (Eric clapton, Bobby whitlock) His wife and kids, and the Robert Stingwood who was the manager I think. My personal favorite song on there is a song that most people would pay little mind but its "Bellbottom Blues" it's my favorite I love it! What do you guy's think of these guys?

bellbottom blues is a good song, but for the record, it isn't about pattie harrison. it's about a woman eric met while on tour, and fell in love with for like a week.

anyway, it's a great album, one of my favorites. duane's slide work is incredibly beautiful here, some of my favorite stuff from him.

But the over all album is for Pattie Harrison, thats was all I was saying. Anyways it's a classic that I think a lot of people over look.

yeah great stuff there. my favorite part about it is definitely Duane's slide guitar. i've always been a giant ABB fan, as well as Cream and other Clapton stuff, so that album is right up my alley :)
