I know this is not a parenting question, but I know you guys better. Last night my hausband came home from work, I was up feeding the baby, so he sat up and talked with me. He tells me that the muscles on the right side of his face are not working well. He had complained the day before that he was having tourble closing his right the day before. But now he noticed it was the enitre right side of his face and neck. He dose still have muscle control, but it's just not as good. Like he has trouble closing his eye, he has trouble drinking out of that side of his mouth. But it is just his face and neck. They rest of the right side of his body is fine. We are going to the doctor today, but I was wondering if anyone else had experance with this? Now I know a stroke can cause your face mucles not to work. But he's only 25, and it's just his face and neck, and they are not paralized, they just don't work as well as they did a couple of days ago.
It could be very seriouse, He needs to go get seen asap. Please make sure he gets to the doc! Take care mama!
i know i'm not saying much helpful advice, but just wishing him luck and healing vibes. I hope all goes well. Love, Sunny xxx
It sounds like it might be Bell's Palsey. Might. The only way to be certain is to see the doctor. Right now. Best wishes.
Definitly go to the doc ASAP! But, I will say this...I HAD BELL"S PALSEY when I was pregnant with Sasha. It is very similar to the symptoms of a stroke. I think it can be caused by a number of things like stress and viruses. It usually clears up within 3-6 months but man is it a pain in the ass! It was no fun for me. I had no controls over the whole left side of my face...and I did think it was a stroke. So glad it wasn't, and I hope that that's all it turns out to be for your hubby. **Sending good wellness vibes your way mama**
It was Bell's Palsey. What a relief, I was really scared there. I think it came on by stress, he's been under alot of it lately. So much so that he is considering changing jobs. Thanks for all the support 8)
Glad that it wasn't something more serious. My wife had it a couple of years ago. Lasted about 3 months. A hassle and frustrating while it lasted, but you wouldn't know it to look at her now. Dad had it too. Can't tell with him, either. Just pick up some straws so he can drink without drooling too much. Lotion tissues as well for wiping under the eye.
Mrs. Eads, While I am not a doctor, I would say that the symptoms that you described could lead to a diagnosis of many things. I really pray that your husband would seek medical attention as soon as possible. It could be bells palsy, it could be a pinched nerve, it could be clots in the lungs, clots in the brain, brain cyst or tumors, or clogged arteries and that is just to name a few. About 95% of the things that could be diagnosed from the symptoms that you described could all lead to death. I think that we all should call unto our higher powers and inner strengths for healing and at the very least that mr. eads would seek medical attention. GOD BLESS
Well everyone beat me to it. I was gonna say Bell's Palsy too. I had it about 4 years ago. I went to work on morning just fine and about 30 minutes later my right side of my face froze up. I was affected for about 5 months. Didn't hurt. Was just terribly annoying. I knew nothing else was wrong but I still saw my doctor right away. I took antivirals for a few weeks. Glad he's okay. Kathi
