Is anyone watching the programme on channel 4 about face transplants and the girl who was burned beyond recognition in a car fire? http://www.channel4.com/science/microsites/S/science/medicine/facerace.html God we are so lucky to have what we've got.
I was watching but it got to be too much for me and I turned the TV off. I feel soooooooo sorry for those people. having to go through all that pain and suffering just for one hope of looking somewhat normal. Love & Sadness EnonEmouse
Im watching it, it really make you realise that these things can happen to anybody. The sad thing is it isnt the people who have had accidents that have the problem, its society, if we didnt place so much importance on looks maybe they wouldnt feel so bad.
I missed the programme but it sounds interesting. I've heard of face transplants quite recently. I don't have an objection to them. I think those who have become disfigured, or who perhaps have always been disfigured, it's great they have this sort of technology to look to.
I sometimes think it would be better if we were all blind; no one would care if you were naked or shoeless or deformed. But then, I guess, we would start judging people by how smooth their skin was etc. I guess Paul is right...
I thought the programe was fascinating..The only downfall is people wishing too have another face purely for cosmetic reasons..like having a nose job (or something). I hope its kept just for people that are disfigured. Face/off does not look so silly now , well maybe still a bit.
