    Hey everyone :)
I wasn't sure where to put this question, I'm 17 years old and I've been job hunting for a month or so. Yesterday I applied to a recruitment agency for a job I really wanted and just now they phoned me but want to meet me to discuss the job further, then they'll put me forward to the employers to hopefully get me the job. I'm going there on Monday and I have no idea what to wear. I mean, do you dress like you're going to a job interview? And if you do, then can anyone suggest how I still keep a bit of my personality in my outfit? I hate dressing all stuffy in a trouser suit so it would be great if someone could suggest how to make it look a bit different.
    Thankyou!

well it depends on what kind of job your looking at.. If your gonna be a secretary then dress up.. but if its a laid back type of job where your normal clothes will be okay.. just were nice clean normal clothes

It always better to over dress then to under dress. I would suggest a type of suit, like black, but the dress it up with a bright colored shirt and some fun jewlery! Maybe some fun shoes too! :) Keep it fun and professional at the same time!
    Good luck sweetie! :)

ugh, job interviews, the story of my life! i'm trying to find a teaching job and i do, literally, a 180 degree turn when i'm interviewing. i wear a black freaking pants suit, with a button down underneath. it's awful. i do feel appropriate, though, and it somewhat helps take all the attention away from my long dreadlocks! i feel like lillith craine, fraiser's wife, in that outfit - and it's my only one, so today, when i go back for a second interview at the same place, i'll look double crazy!
that's what a dreddie gets for interviewing at a catholic school!
wear a suit. they'll take you (more) seriously.

Kayte - you really should get two outfits.

You would be surprised how many people will remember you because you are unique with your dreadlocks. They'll also remember how you wore the same thing to your previous interview with them. It sucks when trying to find a job because you dont want to compromise who you are, but at the same time you gotta pay your bills!

I just add little touches to my outfit, like I wear tye-dye socks alot. No one can see them because of my shoes, but I know they are there. =)

    That is quite alright :)
Interesting idea about the socks, I've got to check the weather report to see if I have to wear shoes that require socks, but if I do, then I shall wear colourful ones!
I know what you mean, its like when my brother first started working, he only wears black and although he's now cut his hair and taken out a couple of piercings, he still wears dark makeup and stuff. So when he first started working at a hospital it was so weird, you'd see him go off to work in a suit looking all smart and clean, then he'd go out at weekends in tons of makeup and piercings everywhere lol. But you're right, you have to find a way to pay the bills! I mean, I only left college 2 days ago and already I have to go and get a job otherwise I can't stay in my house. Its so annoying!
    Thanks for your help :)
