i need to know where shrooms grow naturally, (not in cow pastures) and what types grow where... even amanita muscaria. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
this sort of information would be much more organized and accurate if you obtained it from a well-written mycology field guide, rather than a forum for kids (and adults...) who take drugs in their spare time... just a suggestion. p.s. the kind in the cow fields are the easiest to find, you shouldn't limit yourself to the hard-to-get species and the ones that have so many look-a-likes that you'll poison yourself.... just a suggestion.
Yeah, if you really want to find some in the wild then just go find some cow shit. Usually you'll have better luck in winter, though.
some grow in grassy fields some grow in moist ground with debris and leaves and mulch but the easiest is the cow shit method...and look right after it rained that night and go in the morning
Cow manure is definitely your best bet. Manure is almost the perfect growth medium for most things, especially mushrooms. If you still want to look elsewhere, it's going to take a lot more time. Remember why fruit exists... so we can eat it, shit it, and then have the undigested seeds in the crap piles grow into something. It's unbelievable how many forms of life depend upon poo! Haha... honestly, find the cows, find the mushrooms. Be damn careful that you don't pick up a toxic species of mushroom! I hope you've thoroughly researched what you're doing and have seriously studied some mycology before attempting this. Good luck you!
that's because you live in Seattle.... if you come down to Florida, you'll pretty much ONLY see them in cowshit... growing... all the time.... everywhere....
Thanks for the help, I have picked many shrooms from cow shit, but I am going on a road trip and was going to try to find different types of Psilocybe and Amanita Muscaria in their natural habitats... so thanks for all the tips, especially the seattle tip... where are the best places to look in seattle. Thanks
