The Suburbs Suck!

my sister is obcessed with the oc, dawson's creek, etc. at a very unhealthy level. she had this picture of adam brody from some magazine on the refrigerator and i decided to take it down and put it on the counter where i wouldn't have to look at it, and went up to my room.

so i come back downstairs later and she starts yelling at me about it: "you're like an asshole! just cause you're mad at the world, don't like take it out on me! okay, depression boy? go like hang yourself or something!"

i had clinical depression for a few years, but i got better about six months ago. and even so, i think it's really brutal to yell at somebody suggesting that they kill themselves and make fun of them because they had depression.

also, when i first started getting really depressed a few years ago and told her i was. her reaction: she looked really scared and said "isn't that a disease where you kill everyone?". completely vapid...

but i thought it was a kind of funny story because it shows how ignorant she is, so i tell my friend about it and she says: "what! why would you take that down, he's like soooooo hot!"

so at this point i just feel like laughing at how ridiculous all the people around me are.

*edit* looking back, i pretty rude and immature to her. but damn, i didn't think you guys would get on my ass so much.

Just because you don't like the OC means you have the right to judge other people and or their life choices. She never hurt you or insisted you watch the OC, so what's your problem?

You happen to be a WHINER as well. Grow a spine, grow a pair, and get a life.

 

hey you know who adam brody is..i don't even know that. whats the point again? is she happy? if she is who cares what you think is good for her. she probally knows you bring the most of your problems on yourself and tourment her so she would be happy to see you dead. on top of it all who are you to tell other people what the should do, breath, or think. what as asshole.

 

The suburbs do suck, I've worked very hard to shake my suburban upbringing...now I feel like an alien whenever I'm in an environment like that.

 

I dunno, the suburbs definitely have their drama... but I'd take it over cockroaches, syringes and crime (the cities) or cows and sod all to do (the country). And I think if anything I prefer the relative anonymity of the suburbs than having to be some kind of redneck Skoal chewing Bush supporter or inner city crack head...

 

I'd take country, city, or old smaller town over suburbs, I hate soccer moms and roving gangs of jocks, and other spoiled provincial types.

Whats that pretty bad Rush song say..."the suburbs have no charms to soothe the restless dreams of youth"

Rednecks suck too, but at least in the country you don't really see your fuckhead neighbors

 

There's also a classic line in Lost Souls by Poppy Z. brite about the dreams of trapped suburban youth, but as I said I'm glad I grew up there rather than in some city or country.

The country is much better that the suburbs, I hate cities, but I agree with seamonster66 about not having to see your neighbors. I would rather be able to walk around my yard naked than have to see a place where all the houses look exactly the same with their perfect yards ect..... It is kinda creepy, kinda like the neighborhood in edward scissor hands.

And to those of you who think you never see your neighbours in the country, ya'll haven't tried living in the country. Around here at least, most farms are set up along one smaller road so you're near your neighbours, you socialize with them at least every other day, you're almost always asking or being asked to help out with cattle/tractors/borrowing something from them.

 

That's when you pull out yer boomstick, spit out a mouthful of tobacky juice and a toof or two and yell "GIT OFF MAH LAND!"

I'm absolutely positive that that depends on each individual situation...where my relatives live you could go months without seeing anyone.

and you say "i have no right to judge", which is true. but then not more than a sentence or two later you tell me, someone you've never met, to get a life.

and yes, she has most definately intentionally hurt me as badly as she can - on many occasions.

 

I like the movie Whiteboys where theise fake ass wiggers go to the hood in chicago and get handled

 

white boys was alright, but that main guy annoyed me to the point i wanted to staple his ass to his face and then his face to his nut sack and pop the other one...

 

I hate the suburbs too.....I'm escaping as soon as I can. I'm sick of wealth and soccer moms and big monochrome subdivisions with nonexistant yards- and most of all, sick of the whole suburbanite mentality. I'm sick of country clubs and the 'American Dream.' yeah....got some hard feelings towards suburbia.

 

Nothing like good ole' family love...................
