I'm back now! Actually, if I didn't come see you guys these past few days it's because my cat, Janis, died. We found her on Sunday night, but she must have died on Friday night. She was hit by a car... I've gotten over it now, I accept it, but it took me a little while. I was VERY close to that cat...

I posted a thread on my feelings about it on the Pets & Animals forum, if you want to see.

    Love to all,
    Laety

Sorry about your cat, I hope you're better now.
Cats and cars have always the same problem. It's sad.

Sorry about your cat, Penny. It took me more than a year to get over my dog (and I'm not actually sure that I still am).

I am so sorry to hear about your cat Penny, I think it takes a long while to get over losing such a close companion. But hopefully in time you will start to think more of the good times that you had together, as you heal from the shock of losing her,

    love

Moominmamma ( sorry I have not been about much to contribute to the new forums, we are still having computer problems)

Thanks a lot everyone! You're all so comforting. It makes me feel so much better to talk about it... I'm actually talking about it on this forum, as well as the French one and the Random Thoughts one, and of course the Pets & Animals one.

I'm sorry to hear about everyone else's loss... I really understand how you could/can feel. Moony, it's awful what happened to your cat, the poor thing, I'm so sorry... I believe that "piquer un animal" in French is "to put an animal to sleep" in English. At least your cat got relieved that way... she's happy wherever she is now. I don't know what was wrong with Janis, but I know she killed herself. Animals don't see suicide the same way we do... I just know she did because she was just too shy and too careful, believe me she would have never crossed that street. I hope she didn't suffer... I mean not from getting hit by the car (she probably died at once), but from whatever was wrong with her. During the few days before she left, she didn't eat very much, and seemed a bit weird sometimes... she would drink a lot, would constantly look for water, and she even drank some of my orange juice in my glass... I thought that was stange! Maybe she got poisoned in some way... but I hope it wasn't the same thing as your cat, Moony. Well if it was, she ended it... The poor thing.

Moominmamma, it was nice to hear from you. I hope your computer gets fixed soon, so we can see you here more!

    Love to all,
    Laety
