    Bonjour PD,
Loved your lastest work. I've been away from the computer for a spell; withdrawls are a bitch! Keep it coming!

Ummm, I don't like to kiss and tell. LOL. (Okay, maybe it was only 99.) Yeah, I've had a few things published, but I am far from being rich and famous (yet). However, I have met Quentin Crisp more than once, and I always liked what he said: "Sex is a mistake." LOL. BTW, he is NOT one of the 100 men I have slept with. But was one of the wisest and sweetest men I ever spent a few innocent moments with.

    Peace,

    PD

So there you are! I was starting to think you had abandoned me forever. LOL. Glad you came back to take another peek! How's the sensational novel coming along?

    Peace,

yeah, ur right. don't kiss and tell. kiss and write. i would love to have met quentin crisp. did u ever see the naked civil servant? it's his life story, played by john hurt, i think. apparently quentin loathed doing housework and his flat in new york had never been cleaned, never ever. weren't u afraid of catching something :) ?

Huh? Catching something? From Quentin Crisp? (I only shook his hand.) A really good way to see just how totally dusty Crisp's room in NYC was is to see a documentary about him called: "Resident Alien." As far as catching something from the 100 men I have slept with (if that's what you meant).... I was VERY lucky. Plus I did not like to do some of the more risky stuff (like getting fucked), so I'm pretty sure that's why I lived to tell the tale. However, many others were not so lucky, and it saddens me that they are gone now. Most of them were wonderful people. Are you around my age? I'm just curious. Do you remember how awful it was when so many gay men were dying young every single week? Around 1987 or so.....

    Peace,

    PD

yes, i do. from 87-90 i lost a heap of friends. two in one day once. god, that was fucking terrible. thankfully, we've all learnt safe sex. i can't resist telling u, that i have been fucked up the arse a squillion times and am here to tell the delicious tale (or tail), so that's a bit of a myth what u say. nothing is risky if it's safe.

Damn. That would suck. I'm a youngin', I guess I don't have much knowledge. But I can't imagine just porking somebody and not using protection.

Actually, safe sex really is only "safer" sex. Condoms can leak or tear. That actually happened to me once, and once was enough. I never tried anal again.

I think that too often I read the subject lines & not the authors when I decide which things to read or not as I'm floating throught these forums. I let this one go way too long without reading it.

Safe sex? In the early to mid eighties? HA! That meant being someplace you didn't have to worry about getting busted or doing it with someone that wasn't going to kill you because they were really a homophobic creep out for a night of fun  fag bashing. :(

i think the whole duality based thing of homosexuality versus heterosexuality is 2 rigid anyway. if u saw the movie 'kinsey' u will remember his sex index from nought to six. nought is entirely straight and six is entirely gay. kinsey thought that most people falls in between somewhere. i think i am a 5 or 6. i think the people who are 0 and 6 are probably a minority as most people r usually a mixture of both. just a thought...

Yeah, the quiet ones are not to be trusted. Actually, when the whole Jeffrey Dahmer thing happened a few years later, I read something about how he had lived in his grandmother's house for a few months, and used to sneak men in the basement. YIKES!! Thank God he wasn't living in Chicago. Anyway, thanks for being such a brave and faithful reader! I wouldn't say that this one had a happy ending. But at least I'm still alive. LOL.

    Peace,

    PD

...Jeffrey Dahmer? I'm sorry, I'm rather in the dark about stuff that matters, who's that?

Jeffrey Dahmer was this totally sick and twisted dude that used to run around town (usually in Milwaukee, but he actually came to Chicago at least once), and approach gay men in bars and such. Then he would invite them back to his place, and strangle them to death after he had drugged them with sleeping pills he'd slipped in their drinks. I don't remember exactly how many men he killed (he was finally arrested around 1991), but it had to be more than ten. Anyway, that's why I said I'm glad he wasn't living in Chicago: Not exactly the type of person you want to meet in a bar!!

    Peace,

    PD

"Dahmer ate them too--don't forget that interesting tidbit."~Blackie

Okay now. This thread is not supposed to be all about serial killers. LOL. I mean, some of the crazy dudes I went home with (or took back to my place) were pretty freaky. But they never tried to hurt or abuse me in any major way. Even though there was some raunchy verbal abuse (every now and then). But that's a lot easier to survive than almost being strangled to death. Ever see that flick "Looking For Mr. Goodbar"? That was one of the movies that finally brought me back to my senses (I gave up the booze and the bars back in 1997), and I really do feel lucky to be alive. Because I was surely headed towards a very bad end. Casual sex is just as addictive as alcohol and drugs. So moderation is the safest way to go. That's just my two cents.

    Peace,

    PD
