I couldn't seem to find a recent thread talking about Roor bongs and how sweet they are. We had an old style roor with a beaker bottom, an ash catcher, and a diffuser. the ash catcher was broken and the bong stolen, but we could not live without a roor, so we bought another one (but in the two years since we bought the first one, they've changed ownership and don't offer that style anymore, so we choose a straight down bong, which works almost as beautifully.) both bongs have been used excessively. getting high just isn't quite the same without a roor. many inexperienced smokers, and even experienced smokers who aren't familiar with roor have been flat-out STONED after one round with the roor. I'm talking sunk into couch, and off in space, movement is really not an option, HIGH. This is really becuase the roor hits so fast, when you milk up a hit thats too big, it will all be in your lungs before you know it or even can react by coughing. so anyway...anybody else have roor experience?
roor bongs are nice but really expensive for a bong. It's not like you get any higher buying that brand... It's the ganja that counts! anyway, the only roor experience I can share is that a friend dropped a good amount of cash on one and it was shipped broken
It is kind of funny watching someone smoke a roor for the first time. They almost always sit out the second session. I actually prefer their medium sized bubblers over the bongs. The outcome is the same but its a smoother hit.
i actually like my BD compared to a RooR... my BD is waaaaay thicker than a RooR, plus RooR is lathed... BD are hand blown... big deal about the difuser... if you got some bomb ass weed... you dont have to worry about it not being smooth enough
Yeah, we always get pretty decent buds. but if we want to get high in the sky, we'll grab the roor. maybe its high tolerance, but most other pipes, etc. seem to give a little bit softer high unless you get generous with the weed(we also have a jb and zong of about the same size). a clean roor with ice has to be the quickest, smoothest hit around.
ya know... i've noticed the same thing... sometimes when i hit up the pipe instead of the bong it seems like the high is a little weaker... dunno if its placebo.. or if its because you get those nice massive clean hits(probably that)... yea... my bd has a icecube catcher... so i fill that with ice seems like i can take the worlds largest hits with that thing... dont even feel the smoke go in... feels like im inhaling normal everyday air
ouch. bummer. i hope they at least got their money back. they are pretty costly, but worth every penny.
Try putting hot, near boiling water in your roor next time. The hot water kind of humidifies the smoke. So instead of getting a cold dry hit, you get a warm soothing hit. Its like an internal sauna.
I prefer hot water too cold water, and a lil chemistry 101 on gas solubility in a liquid... The hotter the liquid the less gas that will be absorbed, and the colder the liquid the more gas can dissolve in the water, so hot water is also more conservative.
I love mine. 5mm, ice notches, and a defuser. Last week I had some friends over. A friend who smokes heavily (3-4 grams a day of good weed) to a huge hit, will the entire chamber still full, then cleared the chamberwith the entire thing still milked, then cleared it, and then proceded to throw up in my front yard. I've hit a friend's bluedot before and they are really nice also.
I can't believe people are saying roor bongs are the best... I guess you guys have never smoked a JBD.
A Jerome Baker is just an art piece. It's beautiful, and it will hit as good as any other regular bong, but there is no way it's gonna hit as good as a bong with a gog seal.
Man JBD's hit smoother than any piece I've ever tried. I dunno I always smoke good nugs maybe that has something to do with it- but when you fill that jerome with cold water and fill up the ice catcher, it's just the best smoke i've ever tasted.
if your looking to get a 200$+ bong the two companys you should look at are Jerome baker designs and roor. JBD's are pieces of art and they hit incredibally well but nothing beats the roor as far as ripping goes.
