I had some Vegan French Toast at Bonnaroo and its was the best french toast I have ever had. How do you make it without milk and eggs. I can see using soy milk, but what about the eggs?
Check out vegweb.com. There are tons of French Toast recipes there. You can sub the egg with flour, banana, flax meal, or nut butter. You will most likely have to cook it longer to keep it from being soggy.
in Vegan Vittles, joanne stepanik says: four slices whole grain bread 2/3 C nondairy milk (personally, i like almond in this) 4teaspoons whole wheat pastry flour (not just flour, but pastry flour from soft wheat) 1 1/2 teaspoons red star Vegetarian support (T6635+) nutritional yeast flakes pinch of salt I add orange juice, just enough to flavor the batter whisk batter together, dip and saturate the bread on both sides mist the griddle with canola oil (leat amt of carried over taste..safflower/ sunflower OK, just learn from drumminmama's mistakes: olive oil is not for sweets) cook on medium high heat (dancing water bubbles test) turn when browned. the Red Star is a B-12 source with a tangy taste that some people equate to cheese.
