Favorite Santana Song or Era?

Carlos has been around for so many years now and has done just about everything in music, do you have a favorite song or album?

 

I own the first 2 albums, and can't really say which I prefer... they're both incredible. Carlos is one of my very favorite guitarists. He sold out though. It's too bad...

My favorite songs are Soul Sacrifice, Jingo, their cover of Black Magic Woman, Oye Como Va, Mother's Daughter...

I plan to get the third album soon.

I like all of those you listed. I don't own any of his studio albums yet, but I've heard much of the material from them. He is one of my favorite guitarists also.

his alltime best song is his collaboration with rob thomas of matchbox 20, that song being "smooth". Plus, the album supernatural is no slacker either, hell it won 9 grammies.

he sold out with 1999's supernatural album, and every album he puts out after it follows the same formula

 

Yeah, it's like "work with some contemporary pop artist and play a bunch of wanky, trademark Santana solos over it. This will be guaranteed to make you even richer."

 

Abraxas usually gets all the attention ... but I think my favourite is probably Santana III .. Some great stuff on that album!

Also... Like someone already mentioned.. Carlos Santana & Buddy Miles! Live! is a fantastic lil' album too..

 

My favorite albums are Abraxas and Caravanserai
Caravanserai is in my opinion and amazingly well put together album, i love it and listen to it monthly

 

i dont understand what is the big deal with selling out

music is his job...which means he gets paid for it
most people would want more money if they could get it

say if your boss said he would give u a raise for doing the same job i bet u'd take that raise

no matter what he gets paid his guitar playing is still amazing

 

I heard that he only did those albums for the "Milagro Foundation"

new santana = carlos's pockets full o cash
