people are pretty easy to take down when they take these discussions too personally and start throwing insults and "fuck you's." they start making instant decisions about who they're talking to that often end up totally incorrect.
Man, you are fucking selfish. I don't mind paying for the people in my country's healthcare (well I won't as soon as I start paying taxes). They pay for mine too. And it's all luck, you never know who's going to get ill. If a person gets HIV I think they deserve the drugs they need to not die. It's all about looking after each other, I would hate for someone to go without because they "can't afford it". That you don't think everyone on this Earth has the right to decent healthcare, to me, is "absurd". I just can't comprehend a system like that..... Healthcare for everyone is common sense!
I'm not going to study all of my life so I am able to pay for some lowlife's medical bills or his kids either. It is not my responsibility, nor should it be. If you don't have the money to pay for the medical bills you shouldn't recieve care; and the reason you don't have money for the bills is most likely because of a decision you made in the past. Life isn't fair and we shouldn't try and make it fair. It is a fact of life, live with it.
i've never seen anyone not get medical care when they needed it. complicated pregnancies, extended stays in ICU's, common colds, cancer, everything i have come into conmtact with has been covered, and this shit happens to the young people in my acquaintance and family without health insurance. but you know, people have to die somehow.
Socialized health care is one of the worst ideas ever. I hear all these people in the U.S. talking about how great Canada is for having it. Not even they like it.
So you speak for the majority of Canadians or have interviewed them to be able to make this assertion? Care to support your claim with some concrete evidence?
getting "cockslapped" would imply that someone here had a cock, and we all know that jozak is just a little prick. Notice on my fuck you's I also added "IF." You know, i wouldn't even have had a problem with any of it, because to be honest I really don't know how such a system would work in a country as corrupted as the US. But for people to complain about not wanting to pay someone else's medical bills, but yet still pay for bombs and guns and amerikan terrorism in other countries and encourage it, I just find that fucked up. You don't mind if thousands of people die getting blown up and shot up with weapons paid for by your tax dollars, but you'll be damned before you'd pay for someone's cancer treatments. As far as canada goes, there's got to be SOME reason why so many american's go there to get their medications and all. Apparently not everyone hates it. Obviously there are just a LOT of people here on these boards that have no pride in anything they do, and who do absolutely nothing unless they think they can get big bucks out of it. They don't believe the rest of the world can survive without their way of thinking. Doctors wouldn't be the best they could be if they can't drain you for every cent you have? What kind of bullshit is that? The average RN in this country makes about a 1/3 (or less) of what a doctor makes, a nurse pacticioner (sp?) makes MUCH less than a doctor does for the same damn work....and to be perfectly honest I'd much rather see a NP because they don't think that they're God. Trauma doctors don't get paid as much as regular office doctors, but yet they bust their ASSES every day fixing up people without ever knowing any information about insurance, or even if their client/patient will be able to pay. You cannot honestly tell me that "universal health care" would suddenly destroy our entire medical system, because it wouldn't. That's just a bullshit lie told by capitalists in order to make their twisted logic seem right. If you can scare people into thinking that such a thing would suddenly have every doctor in this country living under a bridge, and that poor people just deserve to die, then you can make youself feel a little less disgusting and shallow.
I don't mind paying for bombs and guns, because it is used to protect my family and myself. The people that are going to end up paying for universal healthcare are the well-to-do. Now, why should it be the responsibility of the wealthy to ensure the health of the poor? Shouldn't the poor have just as much responsibility in taking care of themselves as the rich. I don't understand why the poor should get special treatment at the expense of the wealthy. Their inability to pay the bills is a direct result from a decision they made earlier in their life. The poor need to realize their inability to pay for the treatment is their fault and not rely on others to constantly bail them out. They need to accept the result of their actions and find some way to take care of it themselves. In other words, you reap what you sowe.
Show's what you know. I can't believe you can spew this sort of garbage and still expect people to take you seriously. If you're SICK and you CAN'T WORK because of it, as is the case with my stepmother, how is that any fault of her past actions and/or decisions? People don't just CHOOSE to be poor, no matter how much people like yourself wish it to be true. People like you would just assume such shit so that you don't have to feel like shit for being such a disgrace to the human race. It makes it easier for you to excuse your shitty attitude if you force yourself to believe that poor people are simply lazy crackhead bums who don't deserve medical care. In this case, no matter how many times it might be proven to work, someone like you will never ever change their opinion, because the fact is you don't really care about what's right or wrong, whats fact and what's not, you only care about you. So I'll not bother to talk to you again. Good luck and life, and I sincerely hope something happens to you that might make you change your mind.
Kind of off topic..but for those who believe that poor people are just that because they don't want to work, you should read Nickel and Dimed. Great book.
Thank you. Maybe once you start making more money and see how much bullshit it is when you are one of the people paying for the majority of everyone else, you'll be "selfish" too. By the way, I am not selfish, you are fucking selfish for making people pay your medical bills. AHAHAHAHA, I see, you don't even have a job. (I am not laughing at that fact, I did not have one until I was 17 myself), The point is this: I pay taxes, and becasue I don't want to pay for everyone else's needs when I CLEARLY have my own to worry about, I'M SELFISH, and YOU DON'T EVEN WORK AND YOUR TELLING ME WHAT I SHOULD DO WITH MY MONEY? Bullshit. How about this: If the U.S. ever enacts, God forbid, socialized medicine, or I get sick, I send you my tax dues and medical bills? Deal? Yay! Now we are all equal---oh wait, sorry, that system is far from equal. If you go your entire life without hardly any major illnesses, but someone else gets five tumors, is that equal? No, it's not. I don't like the idea of the government being one giant insurance company, while pushing out REAL private insurance companies, lowering the quality of healthcare, and forcing me to pay for other's needs. charity: noun: --An institution, organization, or fund established to help the needy. --------join one. (By the way, my family and I participate in sevearl charities as well, I am not a heartless asshole like you are trying to portray me as) Forcing other people to pay your medical bills or have the government come in and repossess your assets and home is NOT common sense, that is called blackmail.
Hey moonshyne, Instead of trying to act like you know how big my genitles are, why don't you respond to my points, you arrogant, thieving, leeching, self serving snot? Don't start what you can't finish. You thought I was some selfish, rich brat, with no problems in my family, and I proved you wrong. And let's pretend I was rich for a minute: Is your family or yourself entitled to my earnings? No, you aren't. First off, you are implying that I support the size of the U.S. military, it's actions overseas, simply becasue I am against socialized healthcare. Not support for that whatsoever, moron. And yes becasue Canada is so perfect and the U.S. sucks. Get over it. My family and I came to this country for a reason, we didn't go to Canada where as new immigrants could have had everything handed to us on a silver platter, like the precious welfare state you so desire. Go to Canada, and enjoy paying for it all, and I will laugh as you go bankrupt: we'll see how well you can provide for your step mother then. (God bless her as well). Next time don't drag your poor step mother into a debate, especially when you have no real arguements to support your braindead cause.
My suggestion: Deport all of the child molesting catholics and the poor, welfare abusing Czech immigrants in this country. Everyone knows that immigrants don't have to pay certain taxes anyway, those disgusting leeching bastards. LOL, earlier, someone had written something about getting too emotional on these threads. I think they were probably talking about me, but i think they should go check out all of Jozaks posts on that "true religion" thread. Wow, that thing is just DRIPPING with potty language! Remember, people who repeat their opinions often, loudly, and obnoxiously are probably trying to convince themselves more than anyone else. (~_^) Maybe you should calm down a little, Jozak, before you give people the wrong impression. Or is that just the manic depression kicking in?
Well, as a fully gainfully employed adult, I would rather spend my money on taxes to give everyone health care, then health insurance just for me (which will drop me as soon as I get really sick anyway).
The usual suspects have checked in on this subject--some of the nastiest ,meanest most selfish pricks on the forums. You peoples concern for the rich is truly touching. We certainly wouldn't want to inconvience the rich by suggesting that altruism, benevolence and caring about those less fortunate than themselves would be something to consider. You pricks are real loving ,giving people.Proud of yourselves ,I'm sure.Just the kind of folks needed on a hippie site.--------------scratcho
Say what you want but I'm not going to change my mind!! You seem to think that I am some lowly student who'll change my mind about this once I get a good job. (By the way I have had several jobs in the past, and on Tuesday I will be out job hunting again, but I was restricted due to exams.) My parents are in the top half of salaries in the country, they don't mind paying taxes for the NHS, just as I won't. It's how I've been raised. And I'm not telling you what to do with your money, you have your system, we have ours, we're both happy, so lets just leave it
it's not so much that. it's their money and their conscience. i'm not going to steal from anyone. i've never been rich, and until recently i could barely scrape by. but i've never once felt justified in taking someone else's money just because they have a lot of it. that's thievery. is stealing a hippy thing?
And yet everyone called Robin Hood a hero... But anyway I don't think rich people should be denied all their money, I just wish they'd want to help those less fortunate close to home. Of course they shouldn't have to give all their money to poor people, but giving everyone the same basic standard of life... The American meritocracy seems to make people think that all those with money somehow deserve it all. True in some cases, but maybe having a royal family reminds us that wealth often isn't fairly distributed.
